"Indeed..." said Sirvius, looking distrustfully at the ramp.

[Squeegy]

The party continues down the ramp, Kevin leading, followed by Daniel, then Aso, then Sirvius, with Leon skulking at the rear and ready to run for it should things turn bad.

The ramp continues down the side of the pit for a long time until it finally hits the bottom. Down here, the rain is far more muffled, and the flashing images seem to have stopped. The lightning around the gigantic statue looming up from the bottom of the pit does not appear to come from any specific source. It stands up from a large pedestal, about eleven feet tall, while the statue itself could septuple that. The noise from the lightning is not too bad here.

There is also the entrance to a tunnel by the end of the ramp. There is a skeleton lying slumped against the doorway, in tattered clothes, with a steel long sword sticking out from its chest. It seems a clear warning to potential intruders.

"I call dibs on the longsword!"
Get the longsword, Daniel! You have sword training!

"Ominous," Sirvius mused, poking at the skeleton.

"Be careful," Kevin warned. He hung back as well to watch the Spaniard take the sword, under the assumption it wouldn't end well.

"No, the sword is mine!"
Aso lunges toward it in the hand she isn't holding her copper short sword in.

[Phantom]

Daniel will push Aso away with his spear if she even remotely gets close.

[Squeegy]

Aso and Daniel both lunge for the sword at the same time. Aso snatches it away as Daniel thumps onto the ground in front of the skeleton, but he lunges at her legs and knocks her down. Aso kicks him off her and starts to crawl back onto her feet when he suddenly returns, hitting her on the back and knocking her down. Pinning her down, he tries to wrestle the sword out of her grasp and yanks it away, but she quickly grabs his wrist and bends it hard, eliciting a yelp from him as his grip loosens. She nabs the sword again, but as he shakes his bruised hand and curses he knocks it away onto the floor. Aso lunges at it with surprising strength, bowling Daniel over as she jumps out from under him. She quickly gets up and grabs it up off the floor as he tries to stumble to his feet, and is about to turn around and face him when he delivers a well-placed kick to her ankle. She falls, but rolls, and is soon back on her feet. Then she smacks him over the head with the butt of the sword and walks away while he clutches his head.

Aso Emiza receives Steel Long sword.

The three hanging back watch this with some bemusement.

Aso twirls the sword in the air in triumph.
Aso then hands it to Daniel.
"You have no sword."
No, no sword for you.

[Phantom]

"I am about to stab your remaining eyeball, moza."
Daniel gets up and assumes his Militia Spear Stance.
"Ven a mí, niña!"

"I wish no fights. we have a dungeon to enter, yes?"
Aso walks toward the door.

Kevin shrugged broadly, hands in the air. "I guess it's safe to proceed, then." He followed Aso to the entrance.
