"Anvils? That's an odd thing to find in such a place," Kevin said. "I wonder if this was once the fortress of an army." Soldiers might keep animals such as gryffons or war, and they would need anvils to forge and repair their weaponry. It made perfect sense. Easily defensible with the narrow, tight corridors, and the river below would provide water... assuming, of course, there was a well somewhere. A library also pointed towards human inhabitants. "This dungeon is very... curious," he said.

"I don't think they are those kinds of Anvils, from what I have seen!" Leon considers for a bit, and then says, "I think you just gave me an idea! Come over to my side and come help me try my theory!"

Kevin considered the gap in front of him. His equipment wasn't very heavy, and he was a strong young man. Perhaps he could make the jump. "All right, give me a bit of room. I'll see if I can make it," he said, taking a few steps back so he could get a running start.

Sirvius rejoins the group without being noticed. Also gains 1 HP.

Kevin takes a few steps back away from the gap, then takes a running start and, with a grunt, leaps off the edge. The ground gives way a bit as he jumps, sending bits of masonry down into the river. Kevin stumbles, flailing a bit in mid air, and hits the edge, wincing as the jagged edge jabs into his waist. He scrabbles at the rock before Leon grabs his shoulders and heaves him onto safe ground. (11)

He coughed and got his breath back as Leon helped him onto safe ground. "I don't know if we'll be getting back that way unless we find something to bridge the gap with." He paused for a moment. "...Thanks. I appreciate the help. Anyway, now that I'm here, what did you want me to see?"

Phantom, Irony: D'you think maybe one of the bookcases in the library could be emptied and used as a makeshift bridge?

Leon would take Kevin through the various hallways and ladders and railroads to the 5 Anvils.

Sirvius pursed his lips. I'd better not fall down and die here... he thought to himself, getting a running start to jump over and join Leon and Kevin.

"Wait for me," he said, somewhat reluctantly.

I don't want to make a new thread for this, so I'll just post it here and risk subclassing into Necromancer.

This game is a lot of fun to DM. I liked all the characters that played it. I made what I still consider to be one of my best works*. I love this game, honestly. I wish I could give it as much attention as it deserves and update as often as you guys deserve. But I'm just not involved enough with the Bay12 community anymore, and I'm too swamped with schoolwork. It would be nice to see someone carry on the Foot Soldiers tradition. Maybe I will try again sometime. Maybe this summer. Maybe...

Anyway, I was browsing through my old art and saw that picture, and wanted to come back and let you guys know how fantastic you were. And probably still are. I'm sorry everything I touch turns to dust. It was fun.

*I am so much better at art now. Holy crap. So much.

e: mere seconds after posting this I felt the familiar urge to remake the game. An itch I have scratched twice before. And look how that turned out! No thank you.
