Daniel jabs haphazardly at the Dire Tiger. (5)
It growls at him and retreats to the back of the cage, eyeing him.

Aso starts bandaging her wounds... (7)
She ends up ruining the improvised bandages rather than healing herself.

Kevin, noticing Daniel's suicidal behavior, quickly starts to sprint down the hallway. All manner of beasts turn their eye toward him, but he makes it to the end before any of them can make a move. He opens the door into a room full of animal control equipment, including a few big puffy suits that would likely prevent claws and teeth from damaging him but severely inhibit his movements. There's also a 10-foot-pole and a few weapons designed to close around an animal's neck.

Leon grumpily climbs the ladder. It goes up a long, long way, and he suddenly realizes he is inside the statue. Eventually he reaches a platform, and on that platform are five anvil-like tables made of a glowing metal. Each glows a different color, yellow, green, red, blue and purple.

Daniel shrugs and follows Kevin.

Sirvius continues not bleeding, and inspects the room the rats were in.

Kevin grabs one of the tools for animal catching. It might come in handy later. After pocketing it, he looks around for another exit; going back through that hall of cages probably wasn't a good idea.

Daniel walks casually down the hallway. Animals of all shapes, sizes, temperaments and oddity watch him carefully. The hallway seems to get longer and longer, and the creatures stir restlessly, neglected and hungry...

Aso tears off a bit more clothing for her bandages. (17)
She manages to bandage her wounds and tie them off. She will regain 1d2 HP per turn.
She gains 2 HP. (2)

Leon inspects the strange platforms. They are inscribed with many runes, and have a rectangle-shaped depression in the middle. Magical energy crackles off them.

Sirvius limps to his feet and inspects the room. It appears to be a storage room, packed high with crates, many rotting and spilling their contents. There are also a few barrels, their contents long spoiled. It appears the rats were nesting in the debris, making little nests of hay and spoiled wheat and wood.

Kevin takes a Copper Animal snatcher. It's a pole with a loop of rope on the end. There's a little lever to tighten the rope.
He inspects the room. Unfortunately, the cage hallway seems to be the only way back out.

After a moment, Kevin decided to just go for it. He went back out into the animal hallway and sprinted as hard as possible, hoping to get through the door on the other side of the room before anything happened. Once out, he would go back into the library and investigate it some more.

Daniel walks slightly faster towards Kevin's location.

Aso gains 2 HP.

Kevin throws open the door and legs it down the hallway, blowing past Daniel on his way out, who glances at him with a puzzled look. Behind Kevin, there is a horrible screeching roar, and a slam, a creaaak, and a terrible crash. In front of Daniel, a hungry Gryffon has broken out of its cage, and turns its malevolent eye towards him.

Leon touches the red table. His hand catches on fire.
Leon takes 5 damage.

Sirvius somehow manages to find a large bundle of silk in one of the broken crates. (18)
He uses some of it to bandage himself. (11)
He will regain 1 HP per turn.
