...Though the fact they outright labelled them "space zombies" still feels gimmicky even after seeing the trailer.
I'm pretty sure the only reason they labelled them "zombies" instead of "xenomorphs" or something was so they could get the acronym SPAZ, which is quite a fun one I have to say.

I have nothing against the OP, and the game looks colorful and nice, and probably interesting.

However this:
Spoiler (click to show/hide)
is beyond funny.

Two Escaped Lunatics with 2-3 posts confirming the game is nice and the poster is trustworthy... Right?

Now check their registered dates. One is two days ago, and another in 2008!

Can someone explain it? Was someone registered in 2008 and stalking the forums long enough just to confirm that this is good? I am TOTALLY confused :P.

Obviously, the one from 2008 was made because the adbots KNEW they were eventually going to have to confirm that this game is good.

Its a conspiracy, I tell you!

I'm playing the demo and the game doesn't seem half-bad, the only thing it lacks is a speed up function. If that got added the game would be pretty worth the 15 bucks in my opinion.

Sorry to confuse ya Deon. I think I've only had one other post since 2008 which is really a shame for all the time I spend on these forums. I've not played S.P.A.Z. yet, so I wouldn't say I'm coming out in support of it. I was just saying the OP has a good reputation. In fact, I'll probably be checking this game out because of his input.

I love me some space games. I think Distant Worlds came real close to what I wanted. We'll see what this one can do.

I was totally waiting for that kind of post :). It's a common humor here.

Also, I forgot to say, WELCOME to forums! ;D

A good riddance indeed! I personally can't keep myself from posting in topics I am interesting in, so it's hard to understand how did you manage to stay quiet for 3 years while being here. But people are different, I am sure I will get over it ;).

I totally expected people to call me out on that. It was about 50% of the reason why I did it :P

P.S. This post is meant to confuse you even more

This game seems interesting but probably not worth its price tag.

is that the slight odor of fish? I find the coincidences hard to swallow.

Not that I care about the OP, in fact I have never once complained about game advertising on this forum. I just find the elaborate smoke and mirrors (or not) to be quite entertaining.

As for the game: looks kinda shitty from the screens and description. Just my opinion, but unless I hear rave reviews I wont bother. Lets see if the devs find some time in their busy schedule to poke a head in here and comment on all this. I mean, how busy could they be?

You obviously are spoiled by indie developers coming to us :P. If the dwarves don't move to mouintains, they will move mountains towards them?.. Ehh, something like that.

I'd definitely say give the demo a whirl. It's only ~100 meg download.

For all that it's still feels fairly clunky, what I've played of it (said demo) is actually pretty decent. I'd wager it'll at least match Starscape by the time it's actually done, and Starscape would be a definite on my "Games to play sooner or later" list. SS is a solid top-down space shooter type thing with exploration and resource gathering/upgrading components, and SPAZ here is roughly the same sort of game and looks like it's already pretty good, just not "there yet." I'd say something like Starscape plus, what was that called... Space Rangers? Yeah, that's it, especially the second one... is a good way to shoehorn SPAZ into a X-game plus X-game thing.

As for looks, for what it does, I'd rate it a solid A- on my scale of things (which is, uh, probably kinda' out of date. I still think stuff like Diablo and Seiken Densetsu 3 (Aka Secret of Mana 2) look pretty good.), and it looks a lot better moving than it does static, usually. The game itself feels (from the description and demo) a little campish, so to speak, but with a name such as it has, that's not exactly a surprise. Dialogue I've seen isn't exactly Pulitzer material, but it's not 'bad fanfic' level either (punctuation!).

If the game was 5$ now for beta access, with another 5-10$ when it's done for free access to any expansions or content updates (DLCs) (or at least the first wave or two), I would recommend it in a heartbeat. Maybe even a flat 10$/10$. 15$'s too much, imo, for current investment, but if it gets better than it is, it'll probably be about right, maybe even a bit underpriced. Anyway, I wouldn't discount it out of hand without at least dipping into the demo, yeah.

I would categorize the response of you forum losers (I mean just because I don't post 12 post a day) as hostile.

why are we still seeing the whole "zombie" or "pirate" or both in an effort to sell product?

really, there is still that big of a market? seems like every 5th game on steam has something to do with zombies, and like 1/2 of the books in Barnes and Noble are about god damn zombies..enough already! lol

I rather deal with a Zombie resurgence then the "Twilight" Vampire one.
