Yeah, checking out the demo, so far, it's alright. Nothing I've not seen before, but fairly well done. The starscape mention was highly accurate. The default button for switch ships needs to be further away from the defaults for switch targets, though.
There's a couple of things I've had trouble with. First, the game starts at a freaking ridiculous default resolution (19XX by something-or-other), apparently, and the only way to change it that I could find was actually hunting down the settings file (buried in application data on XP) and manually change it via text editor. That was a serious kick to the ass on trying to start the bloody thing and either one hell of an oversight or seriously piss-poor design. Game should auto-detect native resolution
I've had computers that default res would have crashed.
Other thing is the bloody demo opens up a webpage every time you exit. Every freaking time. Total PitA when you've have to have your default browser closed in order to run the game. I recommend killing the process instead of exiting normally. Again, that
really shouldn't be done in the year 2011
Well, other than that, it seems fairly interesting. Can't really figure out how good the wingman control is, but it occasionally seems damn stupid (mine, curse you!). On the other hand, it dogfights pretty well. Can't say anything on weapons yet, other than lasers and missiles seem a lot more powerful than cannons (easier to hit with, harder to dodge). It's very pretty, but it really does feel like a beta from what the demo offers.
I probably wouldn't recommend it at 15$. It feels like a 7-10$ game from the demo.
