Well, spambot or not, I tried the demo and it's a pretty cool little game actually. That said, it feels more like $8 than $15. The demo is pretty big and covers lots of stuff, I'll give them that.

The demo is limited compared to the Beta from what I read, like not being able to set Windowed mode.

I would pay $25 for the game truth be told I have wasted more money on games not even close to the features of SPAZ, need I mention Star Ruler or Miner Wars..

You haven't realised the people here are stingy bastards who pirate most of their games cause they can't afford them. We wouldn't pay $25 for a trip to heaven, when we could get it for free, with some assembly required.

LOL Fair enough.

In response to further flaming
Look I listened to earlier advice and have  since apologized, so take it for what's worth.

I really like DF, and I like this Other forum because it has turned me onto games, I otherwise wouldn't have found.  So I just wanted to share some of that love.

So in the name of peace, can we call it a truce?

DF is better than heaven then. At least for some.

...? You can set windowed mode in the demo, or have I got a later version of the demo or something?

Anyway, this game reminds me heavily of Starscape. Except starscape is basically all about the shooter, and there's pretty much just you and the mothership. That said, starscape is a good game, if you like this game you might like starscape. (see I can advertise too ;))

Looks good, will be keeping an eye on this game.

DF doesn't mold players into its image - DF merely selects those who were always ready for DF.

Minecraft UI is very simple. There's only so many ways you can implement "simple" without copying something. We also gonna complain that it uses WASD?

forum losers (I mean just because I don't post 12 post a day)

It has been less than one day since you registered yet you have 11 posts. Is the irony intentional or unintentional?

Yeah, checking out the demo, so far, it's alright. Nothing I've not seen before, but fairly well done. The starscape mention was highly accurate. The default button for switch ships needs to be further away from the defaults for switch targets, though.

There's a couple of things I've had trouble with. First, the game starts at a freaking ridiculous default resolution (19XX by something-or-other), apparently, and the only way to change it that I could find was actually hunting down the settings file (buried in application data on XP) and manually change it via text editor. That was a serious kick to the ass on trying to start the bloody thing and either one hell of an oversight or seriously piss-poor design. Game should auto-detect native resolution :-\ I've had computers that default res would have crashed.

Other thing is the bloody demo opens up a webpage every time you exit. Every freaking time. Total PitA when you've have to have your default browser closed in order to run the game. I recommend killing the process instead of exiting normally. Again, that really shouldn't be done in the year 2011 :-\

Well, other than that, it seems fairly interesting. Can't really figure out how good the wingman control is, but it occasionally seems damn stupid (mine, curse you!). On the other hand, it dogfights pretty well. Can't say anything on weapons yet, other than lasers and missiles seem a lot more powerful than cannons (easier to hit with, harder to dodge). It's very pretty, but it really does feel like a beta from what the demo offers.

I probably wouldn't recommend it at 15$. It feels like a 7-10$ game from the demo.

I would categorize the response of you forum losers (I mean just because I don't post 12 post a day) as hostile.
No, you see; It's more of a bay12 Other Games meme (which someone should make a comic of, as an angry dwarf smacking an elf trying to sell shoes comes to mind). This is like the very corner of the forums where we talk about other games -we- play. I personally don't care about people advertising games, but there are a lot of angry dorfs around that would smack a girl trying to sell them delicious cookies right on the face, just for trying to sell them cookies at their doorstep.

Suffer not the Keebler Elf (or allies thereof) to walk away with their face still 3Dimensional!

Where do zombies come into this, anyway?

***POSSIBLE SPOILER******

So far what I have gathered while playing,
It appears that the Militaristic UTA is dumping toxic waste illegally and I am assuming that waste is infecting scavengers.  Once a ship is infected, it has to be abandoned.  Though I have yet to get more details.

For what it's worth, I've seen posts from Lord Xorn on many popular gaming blogs (including Space Empires I believe). I've really benefitted from his input. He's one of the good guys.

I watched the trailer, and it does look cool. Reminds me a bit of the Space Rangers series, except with zombies instead of whatever those alien ships invading systems were called. Though the fact they outright labelled them "space zombies" still feels gimmicky even after seeing the trailer.

Not sure about the price tag though.

I bought the game and the firtst zombie ship i encountered was the *last ship of the scientist* in wich he was conducting bio-research and when he abandoned the ship for i dont remeber why the experiment evolved.

Thats the first encount of the living ship beside that....
