this is on the list of things toady wants in DF.

Does this mean should say, my legendary axedwarf with over 9000 notable kills dies horribly, i could make a golden statue of him and specify it so it will be like "It has Urist McAxedwarf on it, he is killing goblins", "it relates to the killing of Urist McAxedwarf by the goblin Goblin McUberLuckyWithThatGorramHammer" (and so on, basically a history of a favorite dwarf)

Not to planepacked levels obviously, but just a few key events of whatever to sum him up, or stuff like "Menaces with spikes of goblin bone' (lulz)


(also i noticed "Dwarves that have grudges or personal altercations should be able to drag their groups into it" with the dwarves make guilds and stuff. i can imagine the !!FUN!! already and cant wait for the hilarious tantrum spiral an ill-managed guild will cause)

It probably means to be able to produce a <stone> piccolo at the player's behest instead of ordering rock instruments and spend time waiting (and hoping) that the craftsdwarf makes the piccolo out of the right rock.

And for decoration, specific types of decorations (tin spikes).

From Imaginery, that could get cluttered. I would imagine civilization symbol one of selectable images (in order to be able to make shields with heraldic symbols).

In some ways I'd like to see an improvement there.

In other ways, I think it will just lead to too much micromanagement.

It'd be about the same as having to micro forbid/permit whatever you wanted to build from in local stockpiles. I'd hope there's a default option, build statue out of whatever, decorate with... stuff... at least for training and junk item consolidation.
