Murderous horses in adv mode

Something is pissing off the horses in human towns! Just now a named horse killed a merchant AND the mayor at the same time!

No idea whats causing this. All I can tell you is that this is the 5th time today a horse has gone rampant. And its ONLY horses. Wierd eh?

Is this in adventure mode? Because I know elephants can sometimes attack if they wander too close to villagers.

yup adv mode

seen 16 different attacks over 3 towns.

Compounding the problem is the lack of guards in these towns. The horses keep killing the mayor making question impossible  :(

okay, it seems that this happens because the horses are wild animals, but something still doesnt add up. Elephants and such go hostile under some circumstances but horses just seem to
get agressive out of the blue.

I watched a horse run away from multiple npcs and then it suddenly ran a screenlength and started to beat up the town mayor. What gives? There was no provacation or contact between the horse and any npc before the sudden attack.

Reminds me of an Incursion (D&D Roguelike)

From the change log:

* Fixed major root of mount hostility -- when you cast a spell,
 your sacred mount gets affected through the bond, thinks you
 cast a hostile spell at it and gets angry -- because all the
 personal effect spells aren't marked EF_NOTBAD.
* When something happened that caused a mount to turn hostile,
 this error made the mount stay friendly /until you dismounted/,
 because the mount data was corrupted by the fact that it had
 two target object for the PC -- TargetSummoner and TargetMount.

Mounts most commonly being the Palidin's horse.

Heh, sounds like the "unicorns attack elves in adv mode" bug that was around a few versions ago. Did that one ever get fixed?
