Brink, releases in the US on Tuesday
« on: May 08, 2011, 08:42:37 pm »

Brink is Bethesda and Splash-Damage's new FPS game, featuring in-depth customization, objective based missions (not just Kill Everyone Until You Win), and SMART, Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain. SMART allows you to vault over railings, slide under obstacles, and jump off walls with beautiful ease, making the game much more fluid and intense.

Two factions fight over a isolated city in the middle of a flooded earth called the Ark. The Resistance, consisting of fed up and frustrated civilians living in horrid ghettos, fights to unite the Ark, making sure that the lower class citizens get what they deserve. The Security is the paramilitary police force of the Ark. They just want to keep the Ark safe, and to protect the upper class citizens living in the still maintained parts of the city.
Neither side could be considered the 'bad guys' of the game, because the both want for the fighting to end, and both have respectable and reasonable goals.

I've pre-ordered my copy from amazon, and it is supposed to arrive on the day it releases.
I can't wait until then. The suspense is killing me.

Me too.  I can't wait for this game.  I'm hoping it'll be my TF2 replacement.

It wont replace my TF2, that's for sure (I mean, where are the dropping hats?) but I will be playing it. The only sad bit is that it only releases on thursday here. >:(

Time to incite a revolution.
Sadly, it will have to be on console for me.

I got it for the X-Box because I don't know if my computer can handle it. It probably can, but I decided it wasn't worth the risk.

What also sucks is that apparently my Xbox dislikes being Live. Refuses to connect to the network.

And half the fun is random conversations while falling off the roofs of homes in the ghetto, or dying horribly while talking about grapefruit.

Oh well, at least I also pre-ordered it.

I'm holding out to see how the seamless SP/MP character system is going to work.
If there are any sort of non-cosmetic bonuses you can get on a character, it'll be Borderlands all over again.

I'm reeeeally hoping Brink'll be good, as I love the concept of a dystopian, rebel-vs-police state, parkour shooter.

I think all of the customization options will be cosmetic only.

I'm still holding out on whether this is going to be good: It's a radical (supposedly) idea from a big publisher, and we've been disappointed in that department before. But hey, we can always hope.

All the mechanic's etcetara look pretty cool, but honestly...

... I'm just a sucker for customizable characters in online shooters. :P I loved MGO heaps!

Can you fight for the police state? Ever since playing Half Life 2 I want to play as the police state. They use the most awesome weapons! (flying chainsaws FTW)

Does it give you a free pc that can actually run it, or do I need to buy that myself?
