Currently, when an animal is born (example: baby alpaca), it is not assigned to any pasture.

Suggestion:  When an animal is born, if its mother is assigned to a pasture, the newborn animal is also assigned to the same pasture.

It could be a workshop order "Pasture Newborn Animals", so the jobs get auto-assigned.

Or are you talking about an advanced breeding farm, where the mother is kept in a breeding pen and her offspring is decided before they are born that they will be ripped from their mother and stuffed in crowded cage #39 with puppies #1-25.

Yep - if a pregnant animal gives birth while in a cage, its offspring will also be in the cage, but they won't actually be assigned to the cage so the nearest dwarf will automatically let it out.

Pastures as a whole would work better if all grazers were put to pastures automatically and they functioned more akin to burrows than zones I think.
