A haiku is like this, first line has any amount of syllables, second line has 2 more syllables than the first line and the third line has the same amount of syllables as the first.

You sure? I thought it was 5, 7, 5, and it wasn't syllables, but some Japanese definition that was slightly different, and I can't exactly be sure of the difference, but there is one.

5,7,5 and 3,5,3 are the most common, with the first being even more so. Also, you should use a season word and compare a line with a... Ah.. It's like a... You need to contrast it? Or gather attention to it?

At any rate. These are guild lines of course. There are no rules, especially in English, for writing haikus.

A change in seasons
is what haiku embodies
that's what wiki says.

Juxtaposition
two verses are from one thought
and one from the other.

There is an 'off' word
trailing the end of one verse
which one you may choose

Five seven five, see
is the tradition of old
but even masters change

Syllables are not
quite the original meter
the japanese on

But screw all of that
Five seven five I will do
I'm not a poet.

The thread flows onwards
See how I spring to action
Join this bandwagon

(Besides the world's own end
Bears little to extinction
Of humanity)

((Need to explain that
Earth dies, we already gone...
By death? Or into space!))

(((But I a poet cannot claim to be,
Within a language of the orient.
The form for which I'd make myself so free,
Becomes the sonnet form the Bard had lent.
Shakespeare's formed metre of iambic kind,
Contains some lines that number at fourteen,
Stressed pairs, first low then up again at hind,
Each duo at a time, five couple seen.
The rhyme's a 'threefold four-line stanza' crest,
For "This" then "That" then "This" then "That" ends used.
Each quad of independance from the rest,
So six unique endings I have abused.
No, make that seven terminating sounds,
The last two lines the prior scheme confounds.)))

Yeah. Sensei got it. Haiku can only be explained in haiku.
