Interestingly, no media outlets seem to have been able to reach Camping today, despite apparently knowing where in California it was he was planning to watch all this from. I don't know why, but I have a bad feeling about that. Like a "drank the cyanide-laced Kool-Aid" kind of feeling. 

Or, he got raptured! (I bet it's gonna feel like in heaven when he's chilling out on the beaches of Majorca).
Besides, the world doesn't end today - it's just when the good guys are getting spirited away to heaven. Seeing how there's going to be rather few, you won't even notice.
The world ends in October, after some tribulations.

Just saw a clip of the guys on the ISS who were apparently having an Audience with the Pope.

One of them slowly drifted upwards!  I think he Raptured!

Kinda for some of the reasons detailed in here. Especially #2.

I actually have very little in common with this article (and yay for cracked no longer being blocked at work).

I want the opportunity to truly know what I'm made of.  Everyone thinks they're all kinds of awesome, but life doesn't give us many opportunities to actually find out if it's true.  If it turns out I'm made of suck, then at least I get to die somewhere outside of mundanity, which is good enough for me.

There is also the opportunity for the world to start over.  The current crap that society is made of could be washed away, and there would be no reason things couldn't be done differently the next time around.

Now I'm not saying that I wish for an apocalypse where most of humanity is wiped out.  That's a horribly selfish attitude.  But if it did happen, I'm not sure I would complain too much.  Then again, maybe I would.  Maybe this is just a chunk of stupid adolescence that hasn't realized yet that it needs to grow up.  I won't know unless something actually happens.
