It'd be much cooler if the norse myths were real. A badass world-destroying battle between godly beings? Fuck yea. I don't care if I get mauled by giant wolves or have my face melted off by the world serpent, it'd be much cooler then just a bunch of people vanishing.

The interesting thing about the Norse is that their mythos comes to an end in a pro-human way. The gods all die and the world is mostly wrecked, but humanity continues on.
