Well, I live next to the ocean, if it turns red like blood, I'll let you guys know (in 3.5 hours). But then that thought makes me uneasy about exactly HOW we'll be ascended.

That also depends on how many floors you live beneath. If you live in a tall building, and on a low-bottom floor, then this advice would definitely be a good choice.

It would be hilarious if the world ended and only the fundies were left behind while everyone else ascended to heaven.  I'm pretty sure that they'd react by launching a bunch of religious wars on each other while the tolerant religious people would be up in heaven cracking good natured jokes with the atheists.  Seems a lot more plausible then the reverse.  I mean, all the fundies are gone and we have seven years of war?  Who's gonna start it?

ZOMG FIRE AND SHIT IS FALLING FROM THE SKY AND THERE IS MAGMA AND ONE GUY HAD A POLE GO STRAIGHT THROUGH HIM AND WAS SCREAMING AND STUFF. In other news, the church of Scientology has disbanded, and locals are pleased with this change.

This would be a humorous situation. However, I could think of a lot of non-fundamentalist extremist people of various religions or non religions that would start wars. Remember kids: wars can be started over who ate the last cookie.

Indeed.  Wouldn't it just be the ultimate slap in the face of history if all the degeneration of sacred texts was revealed, and Ahura Mazda suddenly shows up to gather his nine remaining followers into paradise.
