Although I suspect that there'd be a LOT of churchgoing folks who don't make the cut, and will be shocked that they were "left behind" (without ever realizing the irony of perhaps that being indicative of WHY they were left behind). Honestly, I've always felt that people who are 100% sure that they're going to be Raptured are guilty of the sin of pride, and ergo are not going to be Raptured.

It seems that the impending end of the world is a facet of human psychology, given that legends about it shows up just about everywhere we do. I personally think it's due to a desire for a sense of absolute closure in life, not having to deal with the unconfortable idea that you will die but the rest of the world will carry on. Instead, people are attracted to the concept that they will see a firm end to humanity, and thus won't miss out on anything or be lost to time.

Plus, if the world's about to be destroyed, you don't have to deal with any consequences of your actions. Its always a party when RagnaRok rolls around!

I guess that with errors like that we will never really be able to say for sure that end of the world isn't coming, until the end of the world, just to be safe.
