[...]like the 2012 theory.. [...]
You mean the 2011 theory, right?

Maybe some of the people who 'calculate' such things forget that there was no "Year Zero"? :)

I guess that with errors like that we will never really be able to say for sure that end of the world isn't coming, until the end of the world, just to be safe. :P

Actually there are ends of the world we could totally see coming years in advance like giant comets hitting us.

Which would be extraordinarily unlikely; if an asteroid was heading straight for Earth, it would take someone happening to point their telescope in the right direction at the right time and investigate the right dot with the right amount of urgency. Most likely, we'd notice as we were pulverised.

yeah but scientists are getting pretty OCD about finding dots and studying them.

There aren't enough of them on the planet, mate. Space is big.

And yet people say there is no such thing as stealth in space. I cry bullshit.

I dunno, space is big, but it's also rather empty. Not a lot of space to hide.

Although I could imagine painting a spaceship matte black and drawing white dots on it would be good for a laugh, especially when it occasionally works.

I'm sitting here picturing ships in space with no radar and it's pretty silly :P

Space always has something in it even if it was just a few molecules any area where a ships sensors detected nothing at all would be pretty suspicious a stealth ship would be a ship that was in the shape of something you are liable to just find anywhere in space like an asteroid or some other celestial body.

Colour wouldn't matter if you are close enough to actually see the ship you are practically next to each other in terms of space.

If I wake up on the 21st and over half of America, including those in power, is gone, I'm going to head to the (probably then unmanned) supermarket and pay for a bottle of wine with my old shoes. Laws will mean nothing, after all.

Since this is rapture we're talking about, you can be guarenteed that half will include "almost everyone in my entire town". That's the kind of place I live.
