The thing about the Rapture is that the world isn't ending.  The Protestants are leaving, but we're stuck with the Catholics (not that I mind).

Sooooo...

That means that 50% of the US population is going away in a couple of weeks. Lets see the job market stay closed now!

Seeing as if it really happens I probably won't be raptured, it won't affect me a lot.

For fun, what does everyone think they'd do if they woke up on May 21st and everyone really was missing?

Also, if they think May 21st is the rapture, I wonder how many of them will think not that they were wrong, but that the world is so degenerate no one got raptured?

Roll my eyes and get back to work.  The math department would still be there.

Try to work my way into a position of power in the now mostly-absent US Government before anyone else can.

I would drink some alcohol and learn how to farm. Real quick.

No one else is going to load up on guns, cars, and spiky leather and form up a road-warrior gang?

As much as I always appreciate an opportunity to rock my Road Warrior, I live in Texas.  The Protestants are unfaithful and outnumbered, so I don't think a lot's gonna change.

Not that I wouldn't load up with guns, cars, and spiky leather even if it wasn't the apocalypse.

You'll be stuck with some Lutherans. I can't speak for all, but I know my synod formally denies the Rapture. I'm assuming you only get Raptured if you believe in it.

If everyone really was missing, then traffic will rock on the way to places. And if the Apocalypse arrives after everyone was gone, I'll be preparing myself for whatever will come my way. In essence, I think I would end up going Minecraft (with STALKER and similar elements) with my new expanse of emptiness. I would probably start getting paranoid of zombies, skeletons, creepers, and considering where I live, spiders the size of cars.

I might have to learn how to punch trees into material.

As for the next question, I think many of them would go that route, claim tons of obvious evidence that's not hard to find off the 'net. You know, the usual media crap. Add to it, also, I think that can also be treated as similar, looking into themselves as Christ writes in the sand and gives his "He who has not sinned" statement as his way of calling us (I guess some divisions of faith like them) out.

Oh, thanks for letting me know.  I really should've known better... my grandpa was a Missouri Synod pastor >_<

My family's non-denominational, and we (Except for my grandma on my mother's side) also deny the rapture.  There's no real evidence for it in the Bible unless you're really reaching.
