Currently a bug where cargopants with sneaky chainmail can be made at a tailor's bench with only fabric. With a decent hemp farm and the item smelter, it gives infinite iron for crafting purposes.
If you're looking to make large profits to buy... let's say ancient research books from World's End, mass produce bread. Weighs .5kg each, sells for atleast ~1000 and is completely renewable.

Take your beatings like a good rando, then, once you've reached a point where you aren't a waste of skin, come back and murder all of them while laughing.

Also, recruit some dudes from the bar as fast as is reasonable, if you're mining and selling ore you can get thousands of cats pretty fast, and the mining goes way faster with two or three people.  As far as I know there is a freebie companion in the bar in The Hub (where you probably started) named Hobbs, you just need to talk to him (and choose the right things to say) and he's your new best buddy.  Then you can hire Inu or Thoke (those are the ones who always spawn there for me) for about 3000 cats each (also in the bar).

Some beds cost .5c to rent, and some cost 100c to rent. They are not distinguished in any way.

ARGH WHY IS THIS GAME FUN?!

If you left click on the bed, the cost to use is mentioned... somewhere on the left hand side, I forget the exact position, but it's there where building info usually is.

OK then.

It actually bugs me that starving bandits will attack you and knock you out, but then they lose interest and wander away without taking the food they were willing to kill you for. And wild animals don't try to eat you, which admittedly would make them even more dangerous...

But yeah, as I get further into the game it's growing on me.

Err, what? Last time I checked they were happy to munch away on important squad members.

They knock you out and that might kill you, but as soon as you fall over they walk away. I am alone at the moment, though.

Any idea on how to train science skill quickly? I'd like to be able to prospect more effectively.

Starving bandits absolutely take my food and wild animals absolutely take bites out of my guys.

The chances of those things happening are governed by difficulty settings in the options, aren't they?

Bonedogs won't eat you while you're still alive, but Beak Things certainly will.  Dust Bandits are about money and violence, but starving bandits and rebel farmers/swordsmen will loot your lunch.  There are a lot of different AI packages and they interact in really weird ways.

Managed to get 24 people into full masterwork armor, with MK III weapons. All with 30~ fight skill each. 5 Holy Nation paladins just wiped every single one of them while taking only minor injuries. Even with a mod that allows up to 5 people to fight a single target.

You'll need better stats against paladins, they're sitting around 50-60, I'd suggest grinding against swamp ninjas or something, I'm pretty sure they're in the right range for 30s.

If I take a starving bandit prisoner, is there any way to feed them in order to convert them?

Not without a mod, available through both the Nexus and the Steam Workshop if you are so inclined.

Ok, got the mod. This should actually be really fun. Right now I'm a little annoyed that it costs 200 cats and a visit to a plastic surgeon to change your name, but eh. It's just weird that I have two guys following me around that are still named "Lower Servant." And I neglected to set my name, so my first dude is still named 'Meow.' Although at this point I've come to accept that. He just had really weird parents.

Perhaps he was raised by cats?
