What should the main party look like?

Ragnar - Sorta detective noir, with a battleaxe
Alena - Can punch through five feet of solid stone, and gets Jessica in a way the other heroes really don't.
Cristo - Awkward but powerful.  Could be the strongest character of all if he'd just stop being an idiot.
Brey - There's a reason for that!  Hope you like exposition...
Taloon - Three words: merchant ninja army
Mara - Can set anything on fire, up to and including lava golems
Nara - I still haven't shown off the Silver Tarot Cards, have I?  Pick her, they're pretty great.
Jessica - She's the Legendary Hero, but you technically don't have to use her if you don't want.

I don't dare say i've read or watched EVERY BoF LP, but god knows i've seen a lot of them.  BoF2 is very well done by someone on youtube whose name escapes me, while the original BoF has been largely dissapointing, as the LPers were rather critical with the game and often failed to complete it before they became disenfranchised.  BoF3 lacks a decent LP entirely, that i've seen, done by people just playing it for the first time and really having little RPG experience to begin with and NO entertainment skill.  I've also not seen a written BoF3 LP that wasn't just a rapid walkthrough.  So i'd reccomend BoF or BoF3, provided you can be fair with them.  We already know BoF3 wasn't breathtaking for it's time, and BoF has some pretty corny in-retrospect scenes (Golem Walk anyone?).  But let's be fair:  They were very good on their own, and BoF was rather impressive for gameplay at the time, introducing many very unique and new elements to the game that didn't even get picked up for a generation or two later (Fusion, and DRAGONS, MAN.  YOU TURN INTO MOTHAFUGGIN DRAGONS!)

Alternatively, I think some lesser-known games could use an unbiased LP too.  Games like Faxanadu, Fatal Labyrinth, and one of my all-time SNES favorites, ARCANA!  I've never seen an Arcana LP, and this game screams of 'Artists did it'.  The story is a bit sparse and brief, but has background and history that could easily have been ellaborated on, and while the presentation of the graphics are... very unusual, they are quite stunning for a FPRPG or dungeoncrawler, especially for it's time.  Furthermore, having actual description blurbs for items was unheard of for CRPGs at that time, and added an amazing atmosphere.  And all those other little things, like the custom font it used rather than the typical default fonts, the heavily embroidered window boxes, and the somewhat fast-paced combat action.  It would be very hard to do this game justice in text alone, but also near-impossible to showcase it's world in realtime.

Anyway, I babble.  Nostalgia does that to me.

One last note:
The fusions make a wonderful LP-entertainment tool.  What, exactly, goes through the heads (head?  Collective?..) of the Fusion members?  I imagine it to be an intimate and highly uncomfortably personal experience between those involved, combining bodies and mind into one superior being.  Schitzoid anyone?

Doof smash, then write articulate poem of Doof appreciation for oak tree.

Mogu's my favorite character, tho.  HE'S SO CUUUUTE!  I just want to take him home with me after the quest and hug him and pet him and feed him grapes all day.   :P

Hmm.  It's still way too early to be asking myself what game I should LP after this one, but...does anyone know of any good BoF LPs?  I'd rather broaden the LP world than make the thirty millionth FF6 LP, if you see what I mean.

A little more guidance in what you want to play would be nice hoss. I can think of about 30 games I wouldn't mind seeing an LP of, but they range from console titles to older PC titles to brand news ones. So...

You could just jump ahead in the DW/DQ series and go for Dragon Quest 5. :D  I know there's a playable patch for it available somewhere. Or you could jump backward to 2 or 3. (both of which are also available in SNES remakes via translation patches.)

Edit: But it really is way to early to be thinking about what's next. Gotta finish this one first. :)

I've been playing DQ5 since the start of this LP off and on. Good times. I imagine Fjords has played that a lot too though, so it's in the same boat as FF3 or w/e. Going backwards from DW4 is ...well the games just get smaller and simpler. A lot simpler.

Personally, I'm not big on cross-overs. I'm more interested in the game, not necessarily the free-form comedy and writing exercise cross-overs turn into. Plus, if you don't really know (or like random anime character #12), it makes for a really distracting LP.  I much rather that stuff is kept to the actual characters in game and what they might be thinking, instead of like "What would Doctor Who say to Vincent in Final Fantasy 7? HRRMMM"

Something banana related, no doubt. How much you wanna bet the Doctor's first Limit Break involves a sonic screwdriver?

I'd like to blame you for laughing so hard stuff came out of my lungs.

Also, you can find the medal locations here:
http://www.woodus.com/den/games/dw4nes/medals.php

Also, a little tidbit:
Where the Chameleon Humanoid died in Tempe to Alena's ruthless mugging, search where the litter was for some lifeforce nuts.

Also, a chair in the performance house in Monsbaraba of the audience contains 80 gold.  It would have helped your start with the sisters.
There's also a strength seed in the manager's drawers.
And lastly, outside endor on your way to the colloseum, to the right side is a narrow walkway leading to some stairs where there's some lifeforce nuts.

And more info:  Some enemies drop items of value.  What is dropped is determined by who died last.  So when fighting any of the following, kill one of them last for a small chance of awesome stuff:

All these drop stat-ups.  Grind for great justice!

Also, these drop some noteable goodies as well:

The number of !'s are the degree of interest to the average player, without spoiling it for you.
Having taloon is a VERY good way to increase your chances, too, since he'll snatch goodies from enemies from time to time, even multiple goodies on ultra-rare ocassion.  Some of these critters are WELL worth spending HOURS farming just to get that drop.  Hell, even days, if (like me) you just keep getting your ass handed to you on a silver platter garnished with pwned and a side of lolnoob.

Mmm, nuts.

If you have Brey in the party and casting set to 'Normal', he has a strong tendency to Bikill Alena and the Hero before doing other things. Their damage output jumps to 'pretty silly' quickly. :)
