Near-Death-Situation
« on: May 07, 2011, 11:54:16 am »

So my fortress is slow but steadily(Really fast and unbalanced) dying right now. Tantrums are thrown against me often, i had to bury a mine with around 15 dwarves because i couldn't close a cavern opening. And DAMN CAVE GRASS IS GROWING EVERYWHERE(I know it ain't harmful. But it's annoying). Should i just let myself lose for fun? Or does somebody have any idea how to stabilize it?

well all i can say about tantrum spirals is make sure your manager isn't busy and make sure he has a table and chair to conduct business. hopefully the tantrum dwarf will tell him his issues. As for the grass, build floors over them or make em a pasture .

You obviously found a new species of smart kobold.
Way to go, you killed the only smart kobold's to have existed.
See? Not everyone avoids you!

Build a cage as a jail and have a sheriff.

Then all the tantrumers will be put away.

Several cages might be a better idea.

Chains are optimal, really, because then you can stick the necessities (food, booze, bed) next to them instead of having them just be locked in a cage and hoping some dwarf gets bored enough to feed them.

Several? How would that be better?
