"Sounds like my kinda thing. What's the pay like?"
Archangel finishes fiddling with the parts and starts putting the gun back together.

[Strife26]

"Negotiable, depending on how much you've actually got to do. We've got relatively deep pockets, and honestly, the whole issue of the matter pisses me off to no small extent. Expenses and an advance, certainly. Call it one thousand dollars to start with, then come to report to me depending on how dangerous this scumbags are?"

[Archangel]

"Deal. Have you any leads?"
He finishes reassembling the gun, checks it over, then hands it to the man. "Here. Should be as good as new."

[Luke_Prowler]

"Somehow I don't feel you're sincere" Luke deadpanned. When he saw the Amber had taken out a shotgun (similar to his own, he noticed), he released the grip on his and let it sit his it's holster. No need for that surprise to be revealed early. "Look, why don't we all just put our weapons away and be reasonable about this. You're all making a scene" the merc swept his armed to indicate the other people in the room, who had been hiding behind their tables if not left already.

[Strife26]

"Not much I'm afraid. You'll have to work mostly on your own. Hey, you're supposed to be one of the best, right? I'm sure that you can handle it."

[Archangel]

"Alright. Wouldn't have been much point in me wasting time finding out something you already knew. A few more things, then I'll get to work. Firstly, if I recruit some help, three or four people at most, will you pay them? Secondly, how did you receive the demands and how were you supposed to pay? And thirdly, do you mind giving me directions to the Forecastle?"

[Strife26]

"Well . . . the fact of the matter is that we've hardly got all that much money to spend on this. I guess so, in abstract, but don't expect all that much if I've got to pay five people.

"Demands came typed and wrapped around a brick, deposited through a window in all of our bars, my office. The 'protective currency' was to be left in a bag behind the establishment overnight.

"Certainly."

<The Forecastle is a fair ways across town, on the beach>

[Archangel]

"OK. Well, as I said, I'll take my advance and get started. Thank you for the job. You won't regret hiring me."
Archangel stands up, shakes the man's hand, receives the money and leaves.

[Strife26]

((At this point in time, everyone should declare what kind of contact information / awareness the city has of your character. Archangel, did you leave any way for your employer to get a hold of you?))

((There is no contact information for Amber, and Amber is basically unknown in the city.))

"If people are scared, let 'em shit themselves. This punk has no respect for this fine establishment, me, or anything. Normally, such an attitude would make me the happiest girl around, but he's not being too friendly."

Amber picks up her bottle of beer with her free hand and takes a long drink, keeping one eye steady on Johnny as she slides her gun back into her jacket.

"Forgive me if I dinnae trust him tae be reasonable. He hasnae exactly shown a good record fer it." Simmura keeps his hand on the knife's handle, glaring at Johnny.

((Simmura's fairly unknown, having kept his head down far more than back home. The local bartenders are most likely to know him. He has a mobile, but he doesn't give the number out easily.))
