So, out of nowhere, the forums start freaking out on me. When I try to visit some threads, it seems like time has rewound back to a couple pages. My show new replies list is just plain not working, never updating and showing things that have already been looked at.

The 'latest poster' bar just plain shows the wrong person. Going to a thread from my newest replies list or from directing to it manually from the forum menu gives me different results. AND the only way to see the latest posts are to click 'reply' and then scroll down to see the latest 15.

I have no idea what's happening I'm freaking out man.

Also, the only way I could even find this thread I made, as it doesn't show up in the forum list, is to manually track it via my profile page.

I had this go on in a different forum, some time ago. I couldn't fix it in IE, so I made the switch to firefox.

Open your case and pry the BIOS chip out of the motherboard, then replace it, all while wearing a wool sweater in an air-conditioned room on shag carpet.

This will fix your problem by making it very easy to forget you ever had it.

More seriously, I recommend resetting everything to defaults in IE, clearing cookies and caches, making a dummy forum account to see if its some hidden setting, and making sure your forum profile doesn't say anything wonky like "sort topic by alphabetical order". In that order, only reversed. Never, however, surrender your loyalty to Archduke Gates and join the Firefox rebels. Their lips drip honeyed lies, their blasphemies shall bring doom upon themselves.

Just shut your computer down and turn it back on. That fixed the weird shit for me.

My updated topics list suddenly was only showing Happy and Osama threads as unread. And there were a dozen or so unread threads there before.

Edit: probably hit "mark all as unread". Stuff are reappearing as stuff is posted nevermind.
