Roll to be/kill a mole

Alright, I've decided to try my hand at another kind of RTD. I don't know if this has been done before, it probably has been, but I don't really care.

For this round, I'll start with 8 participants. If this goes well and gets another round, I might increase the number, but 8 already sounds like a lot of work, so...

This is how it works: You 8 players wake up in an unfamiliar room. Who kidnapped you and why? Well, it doesn't really matter, so let's say it was, uhm, the government, to use you in a psychological experiment. What does matter, however, is the sign on the wall informing you that one of the 8 players is a mole, whose goal is to make sure the other 7 players die. Each player, including the mole, starts with 9 hitpoints. The game ends when:

1. The mole succeeds and every other player is dead. Of course, when there's only 2 players left, one of them would have to be the mole, so I have a few special scenarios in mind that I'll have to choose from if that happens.

2. The mole dies. If that happens, the remaining players win.


The mole, of course, has practiced all the obstacles, which means being able to do each of them perfectly. If the mole chooses to, at least. For actions involving these rooms, the mole can choose the roll they get for their actions by sending a PM to me, and even specify in what way they want to fail or overshoot.

For actions involving the players, the mole can only choose to fail on purpose. Fail, in this case, means a roll of 1 or 2. The other 7 players, who aren't the mole, can also do this for every action they take, also by sending me a PM. Once again, you can even specify the way you want to fail, as long as your character can reasonably execute this.

So, to recap, you can change the roll you get for an action, as well as the result of these rolls. The rules for changing it are:

For the mole: Any number from 1 to 6 for rolls pertaining the rooms and obstacles within, a failure roll of 1 or 2 for all other rolls.

For the other players: A failure roll of 1 or 2 for every roll.


So...signups are open now. Signups are done here in the topic. However, if you want to apply for being the mole, send me a PM as well once you've signed up. If there are multiple applicants ( like I'm expecting there to be ), I'll choose the mole using a random number generator, the same one I'll be using for the rolls.

And that makes 8! I'll give you guys some time to apply for being the mole, but in the meantime I might as well set up the first room and get your actions.

The 8 of you move into the next room. You see 4 doors with numbers on them. The first door says 1 | 2, the second 3 | 4, the third 5 | 6 and the fourth 7 | 8. Once again, there is a sign on the wall explaining the rules of this room to you:

There are buttons on either side of the doors, corresponding to the number written on that side of the door. When two players press these buttons at the same time, the door will open. Keep in mind that each player can only go through a door once. Behind the door is a long hallway, divided into 2 sections by a glass wall. You will have to sprint to the end of the hallways and push the button there to deactivate the traps on your partners side. These traps will activate after a certain amount of time has passed.

In order to move on into the next room, all of the buttons behind the doors must have been pressed.
