Glass. Nothing else.

It cannot do anything.

It's so terrible! Pick slate, pick clay, pick dolomite, just don't pick sand! It's pointless!

Agh.

Anyway, add controlling to the new bot. And a camera.

True.
Research: Better Diggerbot (Primary Team), Living Guns (Secondary Team), Sand (Tertiary Team)
Lets get on with it! *THUD!*

We might want to designate a leader for each team, one who is responsible if things go horribly wrong, or horribly right.

You select Jim, Luke, and Lilli as the respective leaders, for no particular reason, really. You then yell at Leader Lilli for tracking sand everywhere.

No, she's not doing anything unhelpful, just wearing the same shoes everywhere without saying why or making them less sandy.
The Sand team make a new kind of blade out of speed and sandy friction. Unexpectedness!

Can we adapt these new sand blades onto the diggerbot for improved or cheaper digging perhaps?

No, diggerbot is too slow.

Let's add more wheels, and get rid of the clunky features.

Diggerbot is improved, and more explosions are heard next door. Powering both the sand accelerators and the rest of diggerbot at the same time will drive the cost up quite a bit, though.

Priority must be given to the diggerbot! Once we have capital secured we can focus more on our sand weapons!

I have half a mind to walk next door with my HAMMER and tell em what for... honestly some people are trying to do SCIENCE here!

You tell the prototypers that as long as its not more expensive than the competition, it'll probably win anyway, so boost the power already! They toss the camera out and replace it with a bat to take the edge off the cost without losing sensors. How to hook the bat to the controls so they can actually see is a different matter, though.

Make some shoes with built-in missile defense systems.
