Spike traps? Are you asking for ways to kill the noble or for ways to keep him from screwing everything up?

If you are using magma , check for flammable objects in the area of said accident , if not , a dwarf might spread the !!love!! around. Check the area for any form of leakage , like holes in the floor , wells , cages of your favourite animal , copper stuffs etc . Else you might find more deaths on your hands than you expected. Is this what you are asking for?

Make a danger room. Put him in it. Make him pull the lever. Wait. Make a slab for him.

A long hallway with wooden spears, all linked to a pressure plate at the entrance of the hallway.  Lure him to the end, and have a way to divert traffic away from the pressure plate, so you can safely retrieve the corpse.  Something like...
Code: [Select]
########
P||||| #
#|||||L#
D||||| #
########
Where P is plate, D is door, | is a spike, and L is a lever.  Lock the door, order the lever to be pulled, and whomever pulls it will trigger the spikes.  Then unlock the door, and whoever goes to collect the corpse/socks will avoid the spikes.  Expand upon the design as needed.

Kill nobles, kill nobles, thats all I ever hear. Thats too good for them. To be truly diabolical, torture them. Build a special bedroom, that has just a bed, lever,well and a window that passerbys can look into the room. Have the lever attached to the rooms door, then activate the lever to open it. Assign the bed to the noble. Above the room,leave a space where food, and vermin can be dumped. Fire the sheriff/Captain of the guard. When all this has been done, have the noble pull the lever, locking him in. Only release him when diplomats arrive, then have him pull the lever, shutting him in the room again, after they leave. Bonus points if you dump in stuff that causes miasma
 When he/she goes insane, reactivate the sheriffs job, release him, bust him up, lol.

Should you fail to comply, strict !!disciplinary actions!! will be taken. Also, we feel we should remind you that one of the "criminals" on your list is the chief medical dwarf. If he ends up too badly injured to do his job, you will be fired. Out of a magma cannon.
Sincerely,
The Administration

Have him channel out a pillar of stone, then dig under it.
Remember...this could be a REALLY BIG PILLAR.
Like, a 100 z-level tall 5x5 pillar. Now THAT'S a cave in. :)

Lock him in his room by forbidding the door.

Come on now... At lease pretend to put some effort into it!

What ? It's simple and efficient.

As a bonus, make the starving, dehydrated, miserable noble engrave the whole room, and when he dies forbid his corpse (keep it inside the room). You now have a PERFECT room for your mayor to sleep in, and to persuade him for making unwise mandates.

I'd just build a bridge off something really tall, draft him, make him go stand on it then retract the bridge. That's quick and efficient.

Do you have access to caverns? When an FB comes, station the noble in there, and close all access behind him/her. Watch his meeting with Cthuhlu McFlyingRibbonWormOfDoom.
