hfs trap

so a cavein kills anything right? even clowns? so if i make a long long hallway to my fortress and when they're all in the hallway drop the roof will it kill em all?

They keep respawning, but after the first big batch, it's relatively slow and manageable. Also, you could try obsidianizing them. It's dwarfier.

I just had a great idea for a spiral of ramps and corridors, which winds up and up, to slow the HFS down, and a ring-shaped cave-in which nukes all the levels at once. :)

third cavern lake + magma cistern = victory.

Of course, sending 50 armed dwarves is even dwarfier.

I'm personally trying to make the dwarven obsidian machine gun in my current game. Cave-ins are fun, but a continuous one that stops by the push of a level is even better.

Wait wait...If you fill the hfs with magma and obsidanize it, then wouldnt you be able to make it so that the clowns dont spawn?

not long long. 5 tiles long with 3 doors is enough, they will all gather in first tiles trying to break doors.

won't they destroy the doors kinda fast? i would rather make a bunch of stuff to destroy so they stay in the room for longer

Or you could just wall off the edges. The HFS has pits which act like the bottomless pits in 40d. Magma just drains right out.
