Misc Object Using
« on: May 02, 2011, 04:36:27 pm »

So i was looting an old fortress with my Misc Object User dwarf to get some human, and after having smashed a few ambushing goblins with an iron anvil i found my old pump stacks destroyed behind some flooded water...
And the Enormous Iron Corkscrews. So i equipped a corkscrew and thought i would have to bash, strike or maybe even stab enemies with it.

I was wrong.

Turns out you can actually DRILL with a corkscrew in combat. I've been drilling enemies in lower bodies, throats and faces ever since. Are there any more little neat little attack styles like this? I heard you can stab people with menacing spikes? (makes sense anyway.)

Not that I know of.
Drilling, though?

I must get one.

Yep. It keeps "lodging in the wound!" and then twist, so i guess it is like stabbing. And i just found out that you can butcher corpses with the corkscrew to, awsome.

Not surprising.... You can also just add whatever attack types you want in the raws, if something is a weapon.

All I need to make my day is an image of a dwarf with a large corkscrew drilling through a megabeasts head yelling Giga Drill Breakeeeeeeeeeeer.

Of course, I have this image in my head so my day is already made.
And as for misc. Object using,I prefer tables or chairs along with wrestling since... yeah.

It seems my next goal will be making cotton candy screws, leaving them in lead bins and when the fort falls... yes. And serrated discs. Always more serrated discs.

And as for misc. Object using,I prefer tables or chairs along with wrestling since... yeah.
Definetly dwarfy.

I prefer the severed tails and pincers of Giant Desert Scorpions, personally. Was training the Misc. Object User skill, and tried to whack a buzzard in the beak with it, ended up breaking the bird's neck, and then procceeded to beat the stuffing out of it. Whilst playing as a gnome. Baddass gnomish adventurer ftw!

I just realized that socks in the game could be filled with rocks to make them into blunt weapons. It doesn't say it anywhere, but would make sense.

I dont know if chains use whip skill, but it would make sense.

Steel or silver statues?  I bet those would cave some skulls.  Or giant axe blades.  I imagine some dorf walking around with an 8 foot tall axe ripping through just everything.
