Yeah, because they'll buy that. Especially from one "anonymous government figure", because information from those is totally reliable.
Add that to the fact that presenting his enemy as "immoral" is the oldest tricks in the book...

You know, there isn't a single name for the four dozen government figures who raided the compound. The whole thing is probably a big lie to begin with.

And, it isn't unlikely that he or someone that lived there would have porn. Also, what does porn stash even mean?

I used to have a pretty sexy picture of myself when I was 17. I lost it during a move, but if I still had it and the fbi raided me they would have reported that I had a child porn stash :P

And that's why i'm opposed to all government

That's pretty ironic given all the inaccurate/ plain false information given by "anonymous government figures" just after the raid.

Also, unrelated but... why the fuck are so many poeple from the gov giving detail on a top secret operation. Not that I'm against transparency, but that's an operation conducted by your most secret seal team (that everybody know now) on a secret base, base found thanks to top secret information obtained in top secret operations conducted in a very tense diplomatic setting.
Sorry but... erm... I hate to be the one that point it out, given that I'm usually the one for transparency but ,shut the fuck up government figures. The way you spy on the head of Al Quaida, THAT is something that should remain secret, not the way you conduct the war.

Wait, when did the identities of Seal team 6 get released? Because unless if they can put names to the team, knowing which team it is don't do shit.

Beyond that, I've heard that Disney is trying to get exclusive rights to the term "Seal Team 6."

Yup.

This is why I think the issues surrounding same sex marriage are overstated.

It doesn't matter if you have the same sex or lots of different sex(multiple-wives), nothing is quite as satisfying as good ol porn.

Double tapped. Porn linger even in polygamy, I concur.
What's that even supposed to mean??

I think they're just planning on using them as the name for the group of heroes in one of their movies, unrelated to this. It sounds like a clever marketing ploy.

An animated kids' movie where the good guys are a team actually composed of wisecracking seals. Fighting an evil killer whale named Orca bin Laden.

....damn, I should have stuck to my first career impulse and been a filmmaker. This shit writes itself.

Who has a nuclear facepalm pic?

The stupidity of Disney wanting to get rights to the name "Seal Team 6" is just.. Ugh. I am too WTF'ed out to think of anything else to say.

Let us not forget that Disney does make films beyond children's animation.  I hope I wouldn't be tarred and feathered for suggesting that maybe, just maybe, they wanted to license the rights to make a proper documentary.

I'm almost certainly wrong of course and that a cheesy docudrama is the best to hope for.  Let alone trying to register a trademark on a military term, within days of the event breaking the news.  Robert Iger, what the fuck are you thinking?  Were you possessed by the douchebag ghost of Michael Eisner?

Sure, and I'd believe that, were it not for the horrific potential pun creating a movie about seals that RedKing pointed out earlier.

...I'm surprised they're actually allowed to take out a trademark on it at all, to be honest.  It clearly isn't their intellectual property.

I've got the tar, who has the feathers?  :P

Yeah, I thought of that too...Disney's empire is large, and there's certainly other media they could use to exploit this. But considering that they filed three applications, which
Quote
cover "entertainment and education services," "toys, games and playthings" and "clothing, footwear and headwear."

I'm not optimistic. In fact, as I look over the assets of the Disney empire, my heart sinks further and further, picturing the asstastic potential each outlet would have to milk this.

Video games. Theme park ride. ABC drama series (to compete with The Unit and similar shows). Comic book series (they own Marvel). Endless History Channel specials (they own a partial stake in the History Channel). And even....SEAL Team 6 On Ice.  :'(

And knowing Disney's marketing culture, they're liable to do ALL of the above at the same time, to try and get "synergy".

EDIT: In other Osama-related facepalm moments, former Senator and living synonym for "smegma" Rick Santorum thinks John McCain doesn't understand 'aggressive interrogation'. The same John McCain who was a POW in North Vietnam and was tortured repeatedly. All because McCain made recent statements saying that waterboarding Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and other al-Qaeda detainees was NOT what lead to us finding Osama bin Laden. I lost a lot of respect for McCain during the '08 election, but I still think he's a decent guy who knows what he's talking about in this case. Santorum, on the other hand, is a good argument for retroactive abortion.
