Why would you go with the stranger? ???

You don't have to, anything other than running away immediately results in kidnapping.

There comes a time when you must take off the soft, furry slippers of a boy and put on the shoes of a man.
Unless of course they don't fit properly and your feet blister up like bubble wrap.
Oh ho ho, but don't try to return the shoes, because they won't take them back once you've worn them.
Especially if that fat pig Tony is at the desk.

Façade In this game, you step into the role of a woman who visits her friends, a married couple, for a nice evening or something. I once watched a ridiculous LP of it, and now that you mention "psychological game" I think this fits quite good, since you have to, like, fix their relationship.

This probably isn't what you're looking for still, but you might give it a shot anyway.

I've heard of this sandbox game called Dwarf Fort or something like that.  Personalities, friendships, lovers & marriages, grudges, and stuff.  Cat ladies.  Insane killers.  Suicides.  I don't think they backstab though.

You were able to fit Dwarf Fortress inso a sentence without magma or !!science!!?

It was made by a psychologist many years ago on, like, computers that worked only in terminal mode.
Today, its legacy is carried on by this web-based version. A few bits and bobs have been added here and there to modernise its content.

This has evoked rather strong emotions from me. Childhood memories resurfaced very strongly in particular as they were similar to my character's life in the game, and the thought that I will never be able to a world where my parents would not have to emigrate to another country (hint: I come from Greece) seriously depressed me for a while.

Make what you think of it, but this game is the game you're looking for, I think. Also, do read the text. Labelling everything as TL;DR will make you miss out on just the experiences you are looking for and it will not help you in getting into the mood of the game.

Enjoy (or actually be depressed which was what happened in my case).
80 on a dirt road and i swerve into the ditch and DIE! HORSE SHIT! I GO FASTER THAN THAT ON LOOSE GRAVEL IN MY MINIVAN! fuck you psychologist

I was kidnapped, tortured and murdered in the second module...
I eventually decided to commit suicide because after ages of failure I reached old age without a wife, having only my masses of money. Well, I actually died peacefully because I couldn't think of how to commit suicide.
