Digging multiple, connected channels
« on: December 29, 2006, 09:33:00 pm »

I am not sure, but it seems that if I dig a row of channels, then, lets say, a miner digs the end channel and another digs the beginning channel, all of the middle channels are inacessible

Hmm, are you sure? I've found that if you build long continous channels that have stuff on those squares(ie stone left behind from digging) the miners tend to suspend the building with can't find path messenges. Rather than it being they cant reach the channel I think they can't find anywhere to dump the stones on the channel. This only happens when the channel is surrounded by unbuilt channels though. They don't seem to want to dump the stones on other unbuilt channels. They have no problems with dumping stuff on built channels though. So basicly to fix it you just build from either end in by unsuspending the channels as they get built and the stones will get moved onto the channel that's already built.

Are these channels filling with water?  I don't understand the bug report.  Dwarves can walk over channels.

I think I am having the same problem.

I have a channels outside flanking a road (so a channel north and a channel south of the road.)

The channel south of the road can be accessed with T, K and Q.

The channel north of the road can only be seen with K.

When using "K"
The north channel shows as "channel" in bright blue.
The channel south of the road shows as "channel" in light blue again in dark blue below on the line below the light blue.
