Phase 5The Halberd (To-hit, 5+1=4 VS Dodge 1-=7 -6, hit confirmed, damage roll 5+1=6, shields take 6+3 damage, shields collapse, Hull takes 4 damage.) eats Snow Owl's missile head on and continues charging. Then it finally sees the shockwave
You turn sharply and activate your afterburners as proximity warning klaxons begin to scream at you...
Impact in 5...4...3...2...1...
(Difficulty=5, Manuvering roll 5+1=passed) Your ship just barely outpaces the explosion. You check on your allies...
Snow Owl lost 50% of her shields and Red October was unable to escape at all...his ship was just to damaged. The Anchorage was also toasted-any chance you had of talking sense into them is gone.
The remaning Snub Fighter (Difficulty=5, Manuvering roll 6-5=failed) was also destroyed and the Halberd (Difficulty=5, Manuvering roll 5-7=failed) took the brunt of the explosion as well. You see the final life pods rupture from within.
You reorient your sensors to face the unknown warp signature-it's an enemy Lancer Gunboat. Damn...contacts everywhere-heavy fighters are escorting the gunboat, and some more needlers, probably the only left from that wolfpack.
You've also got a friendly bomber on approach. He's flying erratically...

The Lancer Gunboat is an unassuming, yet dangerous light capital ship. While it lacks heavy flak screens against fighters, it has a powerful long range plasma cannon that needs a phase to deploy externally-This cannon deals impressive damage at a high rate of fire, but leaves the Lancer vulnerable and unable to move. The cannon itself is frail and easily disabled once it's deployed. It was never properly utilized by the Tarrak-instead of using them for defense or ambush, they were often thrown into the frontline, and they suffered appaling casualties for it.
The Broadsword Heavy Fighter was the first Tarrak ship encountered in the war and the mainstay of their fleet.
They were slow and poorly defended, but they outnumbered us heavily, and if one got a bead on you, he’d just as soon turn you into space dust-the cannons and bombs they carried could do devastating damage if they connected. The Tarrak seem to have designed them for fighting capital ships, not other fighters, not as if that stopped them from trying-just be careful about attacking them head on.

(-Your homemade detector starts playing a distorted version "Raindrops are falling on my head" Strange radiation coming from that way. One of the stealth ships?)
-allied Vessels Detected, approaching-
1 Blizzard Medium Bomber, moderately damaged #Incoming#^=additional info=^
The Tarrak fielded many stealth ships during the war, to great effect. They were able to "hide" in subspace for an extended period of time, similiar to how submarines would prowl beneath the ocean of Old Earth, and be impervious to attack until they showed themselves, delivered a payload and disappeared again. Some were as small as probes, other large as crusiers. There was a trick for detecting the radiation signatures of sub-space stealth vessels-pilots would construct makeshift detectors on their fighters that could give warning when one was near.

Typhoon Interceptor, Callsign -Snow Owl-: "I'm all right, it just hit the shields. Umm...what do we do now?"
Blizzard Bomber, Callsign -Floral Prince-: "Anybody out there? I think I escaped my pursuers. My wing is gone. I'm the only one left."
E.G.S Miami, automated: (signal hijacked)....This is the Tarrak Union. All hope is lost. Face your death with honor.
50 Megaton Civilian Freighter, Unindentified Speaker: "This is bullshit! Give us a goddamn chance!
There's too many of them...
We'll spin up what point defenses we have on this bucket, but they can only do so much."
OOC: Well, Tarran, your name is only 50% evil, and adding a "K" to the end of anyones name makes them sound 100% more extra evil.
