The End-Phase 8
« on: April 30, 2011, 08:08:06 pm »

Phase 1

You are in the cockpit of your "Thunderchild" Starfighter, and everyone you know is now dead. They have destroyed Earth, and left it blackened and lifeless. Your ship is fresh-the last one to launch from the now hollowed out hulk of the once proud E.G.S Nishiharu. You have no where to land now, even if you wanted to.

You can pick up the first sign of approaching enemy fighters on your sensors, as well as distress signals from several Human ships. What now?

Ship: Thunderchild
Armor Integrity: 100%
Shield Integrity: 100%
Missiles: 4 remaining (Blackshot Fg4 homing, long range)
Guns: 4 Xerxes Rail guns (250 rounds remaining, close range)

engage with the enemy fighters.
All systems are down and we are about to explode...

Try and repair the reactor, or at least prevent it from detonating...

Oh, no, wait, that's them...

Fly away, very fast... towards the civilians.

Send comms out to the E.G.S Anchorage and the interceptor, have them fly towards the civilian ship.   It seems strong enough to have some fight left in it.  Boost to it to catch up.

Aim a missile on an enemy, fire as soon as the lock is confirmed.

Phase 2

You are torn...should you ignore the chirping of allied distress calls over your comm and punch your vessel to maximum speed to engage the enemy? Or try and protect the civilians...

Morality Roll (3+1=4) Your not a monster. Even if it doesnt mean anything more, your going to try and help them.

You detect a few Snub fighters, blasting away at escape pods. Yeah. You acquire a lock and fire your missile. (To-hit, 1+1=2 VS Dodge 2-5= -3, hit confirmed, damage roll 9+1=10, shields take 10+5 damage, shields collapse. 5+5 damage to hull, enemy ship destroyed)

Direct hit. Nice...you turn toward the Megaton Freighter...

And momentarily bite back panic as you see missiles on your radar... but they wouldn't waste nuclear weapons on fighters...the E.G.S Miami seems to be the intended target. Didn't your brother serve on that ship?

Armor Integrity: 100%
Shield Integrity: 100%
Missiles: 3 remaining (Blackshot Fg4 homing, long range)
Guns: 4 Xerxes Rail guns (250 rounds remaining, close range)
Generator: 8 MgWT (80%, thrusters, -2 MgWT a phase)
Fuel Remaining: 90%

Sensors

Long Range
E.G.S Miami, Zeus Class Battleship, Heavily damaged, faint lifesigns, comm out
*nuclear impacts detected*

-Enemy Vessels Detected-

Medium Range (forward), friend or foe finder activated

3 Needler Snub Fighters #Weapons Firing#
1 Needler Snub Fighter, no lifesigns, destroyed, clearing from cache

^=additional info=^
Spoiler (click to show/hide)

11 Lifeboat Pods, average lifesigns
12 Lifeboat Safety Pods, no lifesigns

Medium Range (rear)
E.G.S Nishiharu, Neptune Class BattleCarrier, heavily damaged, faint life signs, comm active

Close Range
-1 Thunderchild Fighter, heavily damaged, faint life signs, comm active
-1 Thunderchild Fighter, heavily damaged, no life signs, no comm
-1 50 Megaton Civilian freighter, moderately damaged, many life signs, no comm

Medium Range (Starboard)
E.G.S Anchorage, Hera Class Missile Destroyer, moderately damaged, average life signs, comm active
-1 Typhoon interceptor, undamaged, average life signs, comm active

Communications

You send a message to the Anchorage. All you get back is crazy.
You try and contact the Megaton and all you get back is static.

E.G.S Anchorage. Unindentified Speaker: "They did it. They really did it. Mother of God. We deserved this. WE DESERVED THIS!"

Typhoon Interceptor, Callsign -Snow Owl-: Lucky us, right? We were the last ones out. I'll follow. What was your name anyway?"

E.G.S Miami, automated: Requesting help, intiating evacuation procedures. Heavy damage to hull. Requesting Help.

Your best hope of doing that is protecting them until they get their comms and navigation systems online.

Phase 3

That got their attention. The snub fighters are heading toward your position, and leaving the pods alone for now. And something bigger, a bit further out. Looks like the one that killed the E.G.S Miami. If it gets close, it will fire it's torpedoes at the freighter...

Use comm to send this message to the civilian freighter.

Fighter: Callsign: blue sky- "Civilian freighter, I'll try to keep off that bomber. try to make that escape a hasty one, over"

50 Megaton Civilian Freighter, Unindentified Speaker: "Blue Sky? Your THE Blue Sky? Nice to finally meet you, for what it's worth. You did a damn good job, but I guess it wasn't enough in the end...

Uh, we'll have her up in no time. Red October there blocked but one rocket, but the other sheared our goddamn subspace-rods off. It's an easy job...or would be, if we had more time."

right, let's get cracking.

Spin to the right, whilst accelerating. fire one missle at one snub fighter, while shooting your railgun at the other two.

"Snow owl, this is blue sky, I need some assist taking out that fucking bomber, over"

Phase 4

Time slows as you begin to caluculate distance and trajectory. The Drones are lined up like ducks in a row.

You fire your missile, and it explodes into the snub fighters shields (To-hit, 3+1=4 VS Dodge 3-5= -2, hit confirmed, damage roll 2+1=3, shields take 3+5 damage, shields at 20%.)

A second later, Red October fires his own, and you watch with sick fascination as the Tarrak Pilot is blown out of vessel... (To-hit, 1+1=2 VS Dodge 3-5= -2, hit confirmed, damage roll 6+1=7, shields take 7+5 damage, shields collapse, 5+5 damage to hull, enemy ship destroyed.)

Your turn your ship right and depress the trigger on the two approaching enemy ships.

The first isnt actually that bad, he doesn't make it easy for you-but his fighter doesn't match yours, and you tear him in two, sending him drifting in two seperate pieces.

(Opposed Manuvering, You:2 VS Enemy: -4, advantage you, firing twice...to-hit 4-5=-1 VS 6-5=1, hit confirmed. Damage roll 9, shields take 9+5 damage, shields collapse, 4 damage to hull, enemy ship takes critical damage, disabled)

The Second takes advantage of the situation and sprays bolts wildly toward you, but they splash harmlessly against your shields. Pathetic...

(Opposed Manuvering, You:4+1-1=4 VS Enemy: 10-5=5, advantage enemy, firing once...to-hit 4-5=-1 VS 10+1=11, miss)

Your already moving past them as one of Snow Owl's missiles streaks by toward the bomber.

In the meantime, a massive explosion rips forth from the wreck of the E.G.S  Nisiharu, and the Megaton puts on an an emegency burst of speed to escape. The shockwave will reach your position in one phase.

The Halberd Bomber has (Sensor roll 6 vs 8=fail) failed to detect it at all and continues blindly in the path of destruction. It takes a few pot shots at helpless pods as it passes by and destroys half of them.

A pleasant female voices informs you that your fuel tanks are at 75%.

Armor Integrity: 100%
Shield Integrity: 100%
