The disease spread like a wildfire across the world at first everything was alrgith they were just sick, but then they started to change they became more agressive, and developed a taste for flesh. When the Infestation began all the world band together, and formed one area to protect the last reamaining survivors by then they had developed a cure, but it only worked before the patient's brain rotted so all the others that had turned could not be saved. Only Twenty Thousand Civilians survived that Horrible event yet there numbers continued to grow for somehow the bodies were rising up from the graves, and even more appeared each day. The places fortified by the worlds last government were secure, but overpopulation would soon occur if they did not expand, so they sent out groups to secure places to build new cities, and you ten are one of those groups your job is to find a place to settle at, and then protect it, and build up as best you can until reinforcements arrive to secure the area.

Bio:Desmond Duane was a no nonsense chocolate making fiend from a fancy place downtown called "Sweetness and Light". He ran his kitchen like a German field general-all who worked with him either thrived or crumbled under his relentless eye. He had always strived for two things-professional perfection and strength of mind. He had a natural tendency to belittle those who don't live up to his standards. In his off time he was a vocal political activist, amateur chemist (recipes!), scrabble champ and lover of literature and classic movies. Even after the apocalypse, he's still a bit of a snob, of course. He's was an avid news hound-internet, paper and radio-and the things he'd been picking up about the "plague" were subtle enough to make him worry, and eventually save his life.
He holed up for awhile in a hospital, saving as many people via a helicopter from the roof as he could, but eventually an idiot ate a piece of infected chewing gum and slaughtered most of those within when he turned-he escaped, though. Eventually, he made a decision to head back into red zone and reclaim his restaurant, though all the forces of Hell stand against him.
