I wanted to use the thrust controller for flight control, but you cannot set sustained drives with it for some reason. I also discovered that despite the text saying that you don't collide with them, light blocks do have collisions. They're supposed to only take damage from explosions(and maybe EMP), I wasn't able to move through them and was able to destroy them(easily, even weaker than glass) with my SMG. Note, that
is glass in the cockpit window, not light-block. Light-block is used elsewhere.
Primary weapon is a large, spinal-mounted railgun, firing a 3000x500mm(5000x500mm with casing) slug(composition: railgun casing x4, solid body x5, AP head, but I might change it to hollow point) at a velocity of 1,874m/s. It fires about once every 30 seconds or so. According to the shell's stat page, Expected AP for the AP head is 129.8 and kinetic damage is 33726. For a hollow point Thump AP is 32.1 and Thump Kinetic Damage is 45846. Test fire vs a Marauder from about 1.5km away, the AP head put a clean hole through the ship without slowing much. HP vs Marauder disintegrated about a quarter of the top deck.
Secondary armament is 4 pulsed laser turrets each with two independently-pitched laser barrels(for a total of 8 pew-pews), split between two laser banks which I probably need to redesign. Defenses consist of two side-mounted LAMs that also pull from the laser turrets energy banks, as well as three ring shields buffering all six vectors(giving about +3-+4 armor rating each vector). Laser damage is... currently garbage. Probably because the presumed engagement range(over 1km), plus the laser banks don't recharge very quickly for sustained fire.
Ship power is provided by a steam boiler with a boiling chamber of 141.6m
3, feeding two electric turbines with a volume of 42.6m
3, providing electricity to batteries with a capacity of 427,000 units. These are linked to a few electric motors(set at 50% capacity to increase efficiency) that provide a total 9440 engine power at full charge which is consistently maintained. Overall power draw is around 6100ep, up to around 8000ep, still sustainable during combat. As anachronistic as it sounds, a steam generator is the only thing that can provide enough power.
Flight speed can get up to around 65m/s. It can descend to around 220m-250m ASL before it cannot escape Neter's gravity. The ship holds about 200k materials, used for both fuel and to supply the ammo processors. Apparently the next version will remove ammo boxes creating free bullets, so on-board ammo production or an ammo collier will be necessary. Current ship cost is 143033 materials, which will certainly go up.
