Ledi: is it ok if I upload that to the wiki and embed it in some newb documentation?

Go for it. Once classes are over for the week I'm hoping to do a couple more. ^^

So Ledi's been training the cats into an army of disposable warbeasts?  Why did no-one think of this sooner?!
Hellcannon seemed to be constantly on the verge of death and Levergedon before my turn helped, but ultimately what killed it was Ledi's cat army.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

this thread is too much fun to die!

When horrible things show up outside :
Use orders menu - standing orders - forbid all, then back to orders, cancel collect refuse from outside and cancel collect bodies / wood.
Some foolish dwarf will probably still decide it is the perfect time to go pick up that XXtroll fur sockXX that was still lying outside from the last siege, but this should stop most of them running out into harm's way. You can use d-b-f to mass forbid anything still lying outside.
Use Dwarf Therapist to remove all hunting labors, and cancel all designated woodcutting and plant gathering with d-x.
Don't wait, dwarfs will continue to execute their plans once they started them, even if you have already removed the labors.

* Bloody destruction of outside threat *

Use d-b-c to reclaim everything that got forbidden outside after the threat has been eliminated and revert the orders to their previous settings.
Reassign labors, etc...

Great comics everyone  :D

I'm not a good artist, I can only draw geometric shapes and technical drawings.

A common problem faced by newbs would be kobold thieves and goblin snatchers. A comic for this would warn of the need for military dwarves or tethered guard animals.

'Ere ya go.  I'm no fancy big city artist, but my MSPaint can work wonders.

Honey badger humping a dead dwarf while the dwarf's family cowers nearby.  "Honey badgers will kill you.  Then drag your corpse over to your family and rape you in front of them."
