I think that the fora would benefit from a "Arena Mode Discussion" board.

I honestly don't see what there is to discuss about arena mode itself. For the most part, arena mode is there for figuring things out about the game, not for many of its own purposes.

Arena mode is basically there to test mods, or mess around.   You can post about stuff like that in other zones.

Well part of me is hoping to see someone post a bunch of new Arena Maps. Personally, I like to play around in Adventurer mode. See what happens when a hundred zombie cats siege the castle against a dozen weaponless humans. But the current map is rather restrained, especially with the lack of bridges. Furthermore, the catacombs under the castle just get annoying when your trying to get back up to the surface. While I have added a number of modifications to the map, I'm sure an entire board devoted to it would be able to come up with better maps 100 fold.

I think that sort of stuff goes into Modding.

I remember there was this really cool tool that helped you make Arena Mode maps, but I have no idea what happened to it.

Precisely. I wanted to ask why blunt attacks vs. a adamantine-clothed dwarf (dress and shirt) were being described as 'through the pig tail cloak', while everything else was deflected by the dress. I thought that pig tail, for some reason, might provide better protection vs. blunt attacks than adamantine (it makes sense that a more elastic material might distribute a blow over a longer time, reducing the impact.) I ended up doing some tests myself, concluding that leather, plant cloth, silk, and fur all provide roughly equal protection from blunt attacks. My arena mode results were consistent with each other, but different from the dwarf mode logs (in dwarf mode, the attacker attacked only the upper body of an incapacitated dwarf, leading to (barely) survived injury. In Arena mode, the attacker would deal a blow to the head, jamming the skull through the brain.)
