I find it interesting that tornados and such get to be 'warnings' or 'advisorys', but the only thing a HUGEARSE BLIZZARD can be listed as is 'Winter Weather Statement'

Is that a flood warning, a gust warning, a tornado warning and a fire warning on the same day? (oh and thunderstorms but I guess that's not much to be impressed by)

Tornados/Gusts: Wind
Floods: Water
Fire Warning: Fire
Thunderstorms (effect is more fear in people who are afraid of them than anything else): Heart

All we need is an earthquake warning and we can blame this on captain planet.

I wish I was back in Oregon instead of Missouri. Stupid tornadoes. Haven't really been bothered by them so far, but it's crazy.

This happens every goddamn spring, and it catches everyone by surprise every time.  I remember a few years ago around this time, when both California and Virginia were on fucking fire and 95% of Iowa was underwater.

The only weather warnings missing are the hurricane and tropical storm-related ones, plus heat advisaries. Nope, no heat advisaries here - only fire weather advisaries.

Also, for those interested, here's an article on our US tornado-fest this year: http://www.wunderground.com/blog/JeffMasters/comment.html?entrynum=1791

Some notable statistics: There have been 102 tornadoes in the past 2 days. A couple weeks ago (Apr 14-16) there were 155 tornadoes, coming to a total of 257 tornadoes in those 5 days together. There will be a total estimate of 550 tornadoes this april. There were 267 tornadoes last april. The average april has 163.

On the bright side, however, we've had only 1 EF-4 tornado and no EF-5s, despite averaging 4-5 such tornadoes in as many as we've had so far.

Yeah, this decade has had some pretty crazy weather. But it really is surprising - as mentioned in the blog I linked, the only other (tornado) outbreaks that come near this size were in may of 2003 and 2004. I also recall that only a few years ago we got a crazy flood in my area - about 16 inches of rain water in 2 days. As I remember it happened, it was because a massive storm was rolling through, then the wind suddenly stopped, leaving the storm directly above us for most of its duration. There was a river running through our yard and we're on a small hill.

I don't clearly remember anything about other fires and floods. I've only been paying any real attention to the weather recently.

All this weather is heading to DC, where it will inexplicably fork apart to completely avoid the city.

You just know Satan has some homeboys there he wants to keep safe.

I just heard from a friend on the phone that parts of Alabama have already started to be wiped out by tornados, and they're expecting about 200 more all the way from their to my state. I'm already under Tornado Watch, and that happens so little around here that it almost always turns into a Tornado Warning in the middle of the night. If my router hasn't been knocked out, and I end up hiding in my basement, I will post about it here!

in b4 New Madrid has another huge earthquake.

That'll be devastating too, right in that population area and they probably aren't ready for that kind of thing like California is.
