Okay, the basic idea behind this is, any number of people between 4 and 6 have been abducted years ago, then subjected to experimentation. Specifically, genetic modification. It will be randomised what exact genetic modification will be performed on your character. But the basic gist of the story: You are sick and tired of it. You want out. This will be taking place on a fictional planet called 'Xaviros' which is quite similar to earth, in all respects. More details in spoilers.
The year is 1242 P.D, meaning Post Desecration. The Desecration was a great blight which wiped out nearly the entire planet. Only remnants of the Elder race remained, barely enough to give current science a boost to where it is now. It is hypothesized that the Elder race held much greater technologies, but it has long since been lost. Xaviros is a lush planet with many different biomes. It has green forests and jungles, deserts, tundra, savannah and plains. Humans flourish among these biomes. The main body of Humankind is the Yr'Toth Empire, a large empire spanning nearly a quarter of Xaviros' landmass. There are many smaller countries and kingdoms aside from the Yr'Toth, the only notable ones being the Ja'Kan, a kingdom based in lands roughly to the south-east of the Yr'Toth lands, over the seas. The flora and fauna are surprisingly similar to Earth's flora and fauna, with some odd crossover's thrown into the mix. Technology is slightly more advanced that Earth's.
Some things on Xaviros are highly advanced, such as the genetic modification technology. Focussing light and energy is not common, per se, but it is used for the most powerful large weapons on Xaviros. Expect large laser turrets, maybe, but no small hand-held versions. At it's smallest, they could be used as defences for a city. Though they are expensive enough that nearly no cities will have working versions. Main weapons are magnetic weapons, gauss rifles and the such. And there are good old gunpowder driven guns, too. Swords are also favoured weapons, mainly because there is advanced 'field' technology as well, which can disable guns and other ranged weaponry easily. There is also 'MagiTek' which is technology powered by the force we call 'Magic'.
Magic is a force generated by a certain type of radiation that stars emit. The Star of Xaviros emits immense quantities of this radiation, so it produces a natural field around Xaviros which can be tapped into by certain individuals. This ability is limited to very few, less than 0.05% of the population, so scientists of the elder race developed what we now call 'MagiTek' to pull on this field for immense power. Most large technology is powered by Magic.

His ship was caught in the middle of a firefight between Xaviros abductor ships and their intended prey, the passengers of said liner-they were taken almost out of pity, since he and the rest of the ships crew would have died of exposure due to the damage they incurred during the battle. He was thankful at the time...

Background: Taken too young to remember where he came from Shawn is rumored to have been volunteered for experimentation rather than abducted. He's lived his entire conscious life under experimentation and has known little else, what goes on in his head though is unknown. He communicates in general handsign without a specific dialect.

Background: Tarran hails from a now dysfunct special forces group. He was the last surviving member. He was getting ready to retire but some apparently thought his talent was too good to go to waste, so he was abducted in his sleep.

Description: Grey colored hair. Grey eyes. Is a bit hyper active. Likes to learn.
Background: Kin did not know for certain whether she had been abducted or been a test tube child but she suspected the latter. As she grew up she got more and more certain that she in fact was one but she had no definite proof so she started to plan an escape plan.

Name: Rebecca Carter
Gender: Female.
Age: 24
Description: Small and thin at 5'2 and 103 pounds. She is very mellow and rarely gets upset; her face is usually expresionless and her voice monotone. She has a somewhat mousy look about her. Her eyes are light blue and her red hair is cut very short for a woman, with a length of maybe two-three inches.
Background: She has no idea what her background is. She doesn't remember much of anything, and although sometimes flashes of her past came to her, they're usually from a month or two ago. Without constant outside reinforcement, she finds it hard to remember anything longer than a few days.

Background: Jannele was constantly skipping class to do more fun things, like taking out criminals in the large city that she has always lived in, yet she still managed to get good grades. She has no tolerance for those that use power of any sort to take advantage of others, and doing that sort of thing in front of her is a Bad Idea
Genetic Modifications: Wings, Claws
Just a note, your character will not know straight away what has been done to him/her, so unless you find out through trial and error, find a lab report, or it is blindly obvious, then your character won't know.
The Guard- The Guard are a group of exactly that- Guards. They guard 'The Lab' and are rumored to have genetic modifications. They are all equipped with high-quality blades, because guns and most other tech doesn't work in the vicinity of Metalab 24A-6.
Metalab 24A-6- Metalab 24A-6 is a lab for genetic modification experiments. It is high security and nigh-impossible to escape from. Or so was thought. It keeps records of all experiments on file, Computer and Paper.
'The Cells'- The place you have been held in for the past however many years. Each cell was protected by a Dampening Field and a Force Field, and probably monitored by a camera.
'The Lower Levels'- The lower levels are where most actual experimentation takes place, and it also contains the workspace of all the scientists. There is likely a number of files down there that could hold interesting information. While computers are common, good old pen and paper is still the most reliable way to record things.
Captain Zal Koran- A Supersoldier of Metalab 24A-6, his physical enhancements, though only prototypes, are extremely powerful when added to his high skill with both a blade and his fists. Sadly, he has no inherit defences against magic or energy manipulation.
Dr. Zakarian- A Scientist of Metalab 24A-6. Not much is known about him.
Laser Turret- A large white egg-shaped turret that fires lasers. It is the prototype, the smallest of it's kind, it is still 15 feet tall. This one was mounted INSIDE the building, so it was hard to see at first glance. It probably goes down into the ground aswell.
LARS-II- The LARS-II is the second in it's series, a powerful .30 caliber assault rifle. It has numerous improvements from the LARS-I, such as a higher rate of fire, and numerous improvements to decrease recoil. It has the standard clip size of 25.
HAP-SS- The HAP-SS is a common 12-gauge shotgun used in the military of the Yr'Toth Empire. It has a clip size of 8.
Katek APAG- The Katek APAG is a competitor with the LARS-II, having less recoil and more accuracy, but having a slightly slower rate of fire and effective range. It uses .30 caliber bullets and has the standard clip size of 25.
MTR Shawkin- The MTR Shawkin is the first true MagiTek rifle. Using a MagiTek Compressor rather than a magazine, it super-condenses energy from the field of Magic and fire them off as small spikes. They have an incredibly high penetration power, and can be used in two modes: Penetration or Annhialation. Penetration is the standard, has more speed, penetration power, and range, while Annhialation fires off spikes of energy which explode on contact, but has drastically reduced speed, and takes up a lot more energy. The main downside to the MTR Shawkin is that it overheats extremely easily, and if fired in quick succession can explode the MagiTek Compressor.
LRAP-SR- The LRAP-SR is a powerful sniper rifle, infamous for being the gun used in the attempted assassination of the Yr'Tothian Emperor. While not state-of-the-art, the LRAP-SR is still a powerful gun. It uses .270 caliber bullets. It is a single shot rifle, requiring reloading after every shot.
