Heh,

Cookie likes slate, billion, white chalcedony, sheep horn, and splints.

But kinda fun reading all the random baron talk. XD

And I think nobles will still work, you just can't change their labors in game anymore(therepist still works though)

i'm harnassing quite a lot of power.
if this keeps going it might end up being "Feregen, Beastgift, the mighty shade of Ages"
i always knew successions games were funny. Now i know why: i'm as hell as lucky.
had my turn begun with a forgotten beast made of fire, we would have most probably ended up being killed in unfathomable ways.
can't handle stress very well.
still plays dwarf fortress.
i know i was born for madness. >.>
however we do need to do something for the animals. while NON grazing animals can be left in a cage (sad but needed for fps) we could reduce lagging by Chaining grazers. it should also stop infightings...

I find the discussion over who will be the dwarven leader far more compelling than real world leaders.

Chaining the grazers is a BAD idea, the whole point of pastures is that they need to move around and eat some grass or moss. We just need to have a more controlled population of animals I think.

when I started this fort, I assumed that we would be killing some of the offspring as they grew up, and selling bonecrafts, leathercrafts, and food made from the meat. However, I also knew at the start, that figuring out how to keep the pasture animals properly pasture-ed, would be a challenge.

All I can say is, try and spread them out if you can and let me handle it when my turn comes around. Or kill some of the most violent offenders, just make sure you keep a breeding pair!

I tired to figure out what pasture size is sufficient for each grazier, but wiki lacks info on how long it takes for grass to respawn after being eat...

i read it once. grass "respawns" at the rhytm of 1 per click. the problem being that you need at least 25 for sparse, 50 for normal grass, 75 for thick grass. and some animals eat 5 to 10 clicks per feeding time. (or it was something like that) point is, grass always grows...but it needs to grow FASTER. did you look if they eat moss also?

I set there pastures and put some sheeps. Let's see if they will be getting hungry in a time.

So, it's winter time.

We traded for all wood they had, and some other stuff - look what a delicious things they have:

Yummy!
We gave them various leather waterskins and stone mugs in exchange.

Sheeps are feeling fine, so I ordered to pasture there whole reindeers herd and cavy pigs. I'm still working on separated pastures project, but it's real pain in ass to plan everything

Some Suturer among last migration wave got possessed and claimed workshop. She brought there a whole bunch of stuff - I even had to butcher one of reindeer bulls, as she mumbled for bones. Now she's making something inordinary.

She made a Heroicash, highwood figurine of dwarves, related to foundation of Beastgift. Dwarves are laboring. Various spikes, bands, rings, decorations.

Doesn't seem like a bee brain would be much of a meal.  If it's a bunch of bee brains, seems as awful waste of bee.  I am oddly curious about how they taste though...

You? Who said I'm going to give it to you? I'm not! >:(
I got this for myself only. Consuming it, I'll get the way bees think, feel and behave, and become not just ordinary beekeeeper, but the True Master Of Buzzing Stingers, to whom bees obey.

Silly merchants, they never knew what tresury they lost...

Grazers DO eat moss. And I just judge by the grazer amount on how big they need to be per animal, from the 'pasture' listing in the wiki.

The issue comes from TRAMPLE, as trampled grass does not regrow. And if a grazer eats a tile bare, that counts as trampled. At least this was how I understood it from reading around the forums.

oh well...if the fort goes on for quite a while, and grass ends...somebody will have to do the butchery. and pasture animals will go extinct (we could pasture animals outside on the moat...but that would be like waiting a siege to kill them all. or magma to burn them.

There were some major issues in fortress organization.
First, our manager if our militia commander, and thus he's always busy with his sparring sessions. And work orders are never dispatched. So I removed him from thisposition and took it myself. And claimed an empty room as my office
Second, mayor lacks his own office and gets unhappy when he needs to comduct meeting at public. I gave him militia's office for that.

Shade, you're officially baron now. I think I move your quarters closer to mayor's.
Mayor mandated to make toy hammers.
