Every time I read something about a guy's lower body being smashed and then struck down, I can't help but think it was a crotch attack.

The incident in question, which was during an attack on a fortress:

In the late summer of 1, the giantess Sunko Dutytaken The Sweet Dessert(This was a pony mod) attacked the dwarf Datan Floorlustrous
In the late summer of 1, the dwarf Datan Floorlustrous's lower body was smashed by the giantess Sunko Dutytaken The Sweet Dessert
In the late summer of 1, the dwarf Datan Floorlustrous was struck down by the giantess Sunko Dutytaken The Sweet Dessert in Treatystockade

I'm just discovering how awesome Legends mode is, but one thing that disappoints me is how I see a guy with over 136 kills but I can't see who he killed, and how he killed them.

It seems to me like Datan likes lustrous floors a lot. He wanted to have them for eternity, so the giantess granted his wish by smashing his ugly face into the lustrous floor.

In advanced worldgen options, there is an option to "Cull Unimportant Historical Figures".

If that is on, most of your guy's kills will not be counted, or described.  It could be the case that most of the people he killed were nameless, faceless extras, whose info was then culled from history because they weren't really worth mentioning.
