Well lucky you. I just keep getting Stone Commoners, who can't do anything other then beekeeping.

Yea, I got a high-master armorsmith in my first year too (summer).  And he proceeded to almost immediately go into a secretive mood.  To bad I had forgone the anvil (civ didn't have iron anvils, only steel ones), and the caravan didn't make it in time...

99% of the time I get migrants that are useless to me and my fortress.
