The Minotaur Child has come...

Come on.... I mean, really? Adsolescent Semi-Megabeasts want some? Most probably as I killed her dad about 30 seasons ago.

Meh, karma bit me in the ass on this one. While I was laughing at it getting dismembered by my swordmasters, a cave dragon snuck into my lower fort, killing one nobody, a high master doctor and 2 speardwarves.

You see, it's called natural selection. They deserved to die.

The game uses random name generation, seeing as how a titan isn't using a defined language file the game can churn out anything that's a legitimate string of letters (e.g. no names like Yzkzytxaddfss)

I think his name is "Child Ur Okomslon", the Minotaur. Not "Ur Okomslon", Minotaur Child

Can you check this?

I've never heard of anything but an adult titan or megabeast attacking anyone. But maybe that's just something I've never seen personally.

Megabeasts are named by the civ that first encounters them, the same with all historical figures who aren't a member of a civ.  Unless you have a civ that uses language_English.txt, which would have to be modded in, it's a child of a minotaur, for sure.

Do you read the posts above? :P

Most probably as I killed her dad about 30 seasons ago.

So very unlikely.

When did you end worldgen?

I guess this is one side-effect of the code Toady introduced to make megabeasts SLOWLY reproduce a while ago.

Worldgen ended at 125. This occured in 137, shortly before the fort was lost due to massive tantrum spiral and huge murder wave (pesky forgotten beast getting into my deep and secret excavation vein and killing a few of my starting 7 coupled with deadly blood removing most of my soldiers). AFAIK it was an offspring - I did kill a fully grown male minotaur in around 130/131, and I had engravings of multiple minotaurs that settled in my region from between years 60 to 75, but none of this paticular one.

They are not megabeasts, they are semimegabeasts, and they can reproduce normally, not slowly.

You can get whole giant families in caves.

And currently the only megabeast which has the [CHILD] tag in the raws is the Roc, so its the only one that is even capable of reproducing.

Not true, I did few tests and I managed to get dragons and hyrdras breed during world gen.(I removed all other kind of special monsters(night creatures, demons, titans, semi mega beasts) in advanced world generation and generated world) Unless you meant in Fortress mode, in which case I don't know.
