dwarves wont mine?

ok so im in the 4th year of my fortress and everything went well but all of the sudden they wont listen to any dig commands...(like digging channels, stairs etc.)

is this a bug or am i just doing something wrong? it al seemed to happen after a part of my fortress 'collapsed'
(nothing really copllapsed but the game said it did)

i dont know if the collapsing has anything to do with it but this is really starting to annoy me (and yes im playing the newest version)

Perhaps your picks got lost in the collapse or your miners are stuck behind a collapsed ramp.

Check stock screen and your miners.

good call...it seems the dwarf who had the last pick drowned in my underground lake...thanks for the help   ;)

I had a similar problem due to an extreme overload of haul tasks from 3 crafters a mechanic and a carpenter on repeat.  You may be smarter than I though and have all hauling turned off on your miners already.
