I'll wait for a late Alpha or early Beta build. In it's current state, I'm not really interested.

Maybe it's parasitic. It never loses its flavor because you eventually die from having your nutrients stolen by it.

May look more into it later. Sounds badass, though. I'm going to end up only using piercing weapons. Not weapons that will put a BIG hole, but ones that put a DEEP hole.

Release #26 is out, apparently representing the first stable version since #20.

Changes in W26  (taken from http://www.blockaderunnergame.com)
-------------------------------------
- Added prequisite installer to Blockade Runner
- Added Hydroponics block
- Added Duct block
- Added special effect for creation/deletion
- Added time cycle to Alinda (20 minutes) and Earth (24 hour) light settings
- Added 3D Sound to explosions & weapons
- Fixed silver is now destructible
- Fixed metric weight would not display properly
- Fixed older ships would not load
- Fixed "Console" would not show up in radial
- Fixed remote control could not control two entities
- Fixed sound settings would not save in settings.xml
- Fixed texture filter setting would not save in settings.xml
- Fixed numerous bugs that would cause the game to crash
- Improved plating can be stripped off of the frame while plating is selected
- Improved sound system
- Removed "editor" camera type temporarily

Still no real game play elements to speak of, which is unfortunate. The core of the game engine is looking and feeling much more fleshed out however. My feeling is that they have been a bit optimistic about the pace of development. That said, several months have passed now of consistent development, with no signs of slowing down. Hopefully a few more months will see the implementation of building tools and the beginnings of rudimentary game play (humanoid movement, etc.)

A bit of a fun video...

Another cool vid.

Also worth mentioning that the main page lists the number of purchases as now at 1358 (although the actual number is probably higher as it is updated manually at the moment).

You're welcome!

The vid for this week has just come online. Helped me realize just how much has been done over the last month.

So, it's been a whole two months now without any update.  :-[

The good news is that they have been working away the whole time.

The better news is that we are due now for a massive update within days, possibly hours.

The devs are as tight lipped as usual, but have revealed that the release represents one of the five major components of the game as envisioned for completion by the end of next year.  See this thread for more: http://forums.blockaderunnergame.com/index.php?topic=495.0

They mention multiplayer but nothing about single player. Do you know if it is playable alone?

I have to multiplayer all day long. I like some down time where it's just me.

Pilgrimboy, after poking Gabriel from ZanMgt with your question, Blockade runner with have a full experience with Singleplayer and Co-Op in addition to the aclaimed multiplayer aspect.  It is completely playable alone.

Hope that answers the question.  If anyone has any more, feel free to ask and I'll poke another Dev for the answers!  8)
