"BALANCE: REAL" will use your real Center of Mass.

"BALANCE: PERFECT" will set your Center of Mass to the most optimal position for moving forward, backward, left, right, up, down and moving the ship with your mouse. However turning (default "q" and "e") is a little weird.

NOTE: When you have your balance set to "PERFECT" and a weapon destroys one of your blocks, the balance starts to screw up. This should be fixed by the next release.

That sounds more like a feature than a bug actually.

Is it me,or there is something wrong with the collision model in this game?Tried to ram other ship, only to bounce without even touching other ship's hull.

Collision models aren't implemented yet. You get a stretched sphere.

At the moment they're only collision spheres, which can be warped a bit if the ship is of an odd design.  YOu'll notice that if you build something close to another object, you can add or remove a single block and end up pushing everything nearby away from you.  Amusing.  :P

New release is out with some bug fixes and the ability to remotely control up to two entities.

There is also a demonstration video of release 19 up here...

You know, recently I've been thinking, "I'm tired of science fiction games. Seems like that's all I play lately. Perhaps I should take a break and play more fantasy titles?"

But no. Now I've found YET ANOTHER must-have sci-fi. I'm always looking for games that provide huge amounts of customization and construction, which is probably why I like DF, Minecraft, and Aurora so much.

Definetely gonna keep an eye on this, possibly purchase. Damn you Bay 12, damn you  :P

You must not realize that Zerebo just posted that video and that he made it.  Oh well, it's a cool video.

Zerebo did indeed make the video, and with the new remote pilot feature that's gone in, we can only imagine what new and creative videos that will be coming out.  Also a note for those of you who are still messing around with the Lite verison of the game, when W21/W22 is released, the devs had said they'd be moving the Lite version up, so you guys may be able to play around with some of the new features as well.  Something to look forward to there.  8)

It says "fan made video". Zerebo is a fan. He made a video. Seems to me he realizes it perfectly?

I just thought of something that would be awesome, but few games (if any) implement: spinal-mounted "siege guns". It would be an alternative/complement to the rapid fire plasma guns. Basically, you'd build a long string of "cannon blocks". The longer the string, the stronger the gun. Really powerful ones would be able to rip entirely through ships and asteroids. They would, of course, have a very long recharge.

It says "fan made video". Zerebo is a fan. He made a video. Seems to me he realizes it perfectly?

I'm not complaining.  I'm just pointing out that this same video was posted 3 posts earlier, by the person who made it.

After mentions of the game in in a PC gaming site and on Notch's twitter feed Blockade Runner now has had more than 900 purchases!

The new forum has basically exploded with activity as new players come in. Heaps of amazing ship designs to look at.

The devs are currently working on release #24, which will represent some major changes to the engine. A few bugs remain to be fixed so I'm not sure when it will be out, but hopefully within the next few days. Meanwhile, there is a link to a buggy #23 available if you want to see what kind of stuff is going in.

The next stable release has been help up by lots of bug fixing, but an indev release (#25) has been made available with lots of nice changes. Reportedly more stable than #23 but some people are reporting crashing with windows 7.
