So I was playing on fortress mode with the Genesis mod, and i uncovered a demonic fortress.
Since my fortress was doing horribly, I decided to use DF hack to switch to adventure mode, and take my legendary swordsdwarf down there, get the sword, and go slay a dragon or something.
When I got the sword after fighting through legions of undead skunk, I decided to sleep for 24 hours to see if the nausea would wear off, but while I was sleeping i seem to have turned into a ghostly fisherdwarf from the old fortress. What the hell is happening?

You're using a mod to do something really unorthodox. Ta-da.

you miss the memo on swapping over non-adventurer characters gives a random chance of changing to a different character when the game unloads (sleeping, waiting, and traveling can have this effect but Traveling is worst for it will randomly teleport you to some off distant area). You should have had Dfusion and used it's perma Adventure swap to make sure you could continue on.
a Uncommon Common issue that happens hopefully you didn't save the game in the whole ghost lady form or you end up losing a adventurer.
oh and you can't retire or rest going from(starting) Fort mode to adventure mode due to we haven't found the flag that allows swap adventurers the ability to rest like normal adventurers do. Best off to dump the non-adventurer in a hamlet or retired fort swap over to a different character who is dead and finish the game. that way if you come back as an adventurer you could just swap over to the NPC you were playing as.

Sleeping in sites underground is not a good idea, there is a bug which can switch you to other creatures... But a ghost? That's something new .
