Nope, I am suggesting it though.

Why are you offended?

Because it implies that your religion is important information to how you should be treated while travelling. And that is discrimination, so as an atheist, I think it is wrong for that information to be required.
Goddammit, no.  That's exactly what people are saying shouldn't be the case, because it isn't now.  Somebody here proffered the idea and it's being shot down, don't complicate things.

Well, there are some countries that demand a declaration of religion on a passport.  They tend to be the countries with "right" and "wrong" religions, i.e. not the US.

Give me a second to catch up. I need to figure out the situation of a country that I'm not in, and I haven't had my cup of tea yet.

Listing religion on passport (if they don't already do that, that is). My point here is that the most likely terrorists would, in fact, be Muslim extremists. Of course there would be ways to bypass this and I'll be thinking about that.
Your point is based on false premises:

If you can't spare fourty minutes to watch it - an antropologist talks about the results of his study, proving no correlation whatsoever between religious extremism, and terrorism.

I'm going to let this idea die because Aqqizar's was way better.

...What the fuck do you mean, "my" idea?  You already declare a race on pretty much any government document.  I'm not coming up with ideas at all, I'm making a comparison to real world thing.

Dammit man, have you ever even seen a passport?

I'm sorry for giving you credit for something. I will never do so again.

I would say that Muslims are more likely to e terrorists than little girls.

And if I were a terrorist in this situation (who really, really wanted to get the job done more than anything else), I'd plant the bomb on the little girl.  In a body cavity, if possible.  I'd also pretend to be Israeli.

Just saying.

Also, I am not a terrorist, and would never kill or hurt anyone outside of extreme circumstances.  I also love this country, as much as it bothers me sometimes.

Little girl that matches the description of the above video. That was the description I meant. Should have clarified.

The UK and Australia ask all it's inhabitants to fill in census forms with amongst others their religion if I recall correctly (could be a part of them to get an estimate for the whole population). One time they got 1% Pastafarianism. They were not amused...

What I actually had in mind was the identifications stamps made on passports when you enter or leave a country.  There are some countries that ask for a declaration of religion, and will give you a certain stamp depending on the answer.  That might not be a real thing.  It is true that having an Israeli stamp in your passport can get you arrested in some places, since Israeli citizenship, or even legal contact, is frequently seen as practically a declaration of a very specific religion.

That will teach you to try and agree with Aquizzar. Even when you say he is right, you are wrong, and he is still right.

It isn't a problem for me, it is a problem for anybody that feels the service they receive is different from everybody else because of their beliefs.

Information aside, it strikes me as unseemly that you'd ever be required to write down which religion you call yourself.  What if you convert?  Heck, what if you lie?  Does it count as falsifying documents, to claim you believe in a spiritual text that you really don't, or vice versa?[...]

IIRC (because it was about a month ago, and I've slept since), in the UK census the question about one's religion was first of all marked as voluntary (I think the only one) and you cannot be prosecuted for falsifying your answer.  Hence, ten years ago, the recording of a large number of Jedi across the British Isles.

(But there can only be two Sith.  Master and Apprentice.  And they are hidden and secret, so with individual and identifiable census results remaining confidential for 100 years, there's absolutely no way to find out the true identities of the mysterious individuals known only as Darth Cameron and Darth Clegg really are... :) )

I'm a Muslim.  I write Religion: Lutheran.  Or Religion: None.  Or Religion: Born-again Christian.

Problem solved.

What, you mean a cute little white girl?

I'd get me one of those, then, and proceed as aforementioned.  Seriously, this isn't that hard.  Adopt a white baby and proceed for great justice.  It might take a few years, but if a person really, really wants to do something, there's almost always a way.

Ochita, you have repeatedly jumped from point A to point D when I say something.

If I am surprised at the number of atheists on the internet, well I must be shouting about the damnation of heathens, right?

...Okay...

Unlikely as for adoption of a white baby, takes too long, and if they have explosives then they can't wait very long, anyway.

No, I don't know where that came from, although I now get it.

But still, having to falsify your religion due to discrimination is still not good, if only because of the root problem.

... You must think all Muslim extremists are very impatient =/  You obviously don't buy explosives at the beginning, you buy them when you're going to need them soon.

My point is simply that there's a certain amount of laxness society has to decide on and consider "good enough."  There's always going to be holes.  You just have to play the probability and hope things work out okay.

Hell, I doubt if most government officials could tell the difference between a Wahabist, a Janist, a Baha'i or a Yazidi, let alone identify some of the more obscure religions or sects.
