About the underground building discussion; I'm pretty sure in Dominic's second video one of the annotations mentions the lower layers underground cannot be hammered out. You can see the visible difference where this occurs, the dirt background suddenly has speckles of grey stone mixed in. It still leaves the possibility of dragging a line of broken background down from the surface through it, but that possibility is unlikely since the background is probably just flagged as "unbreakable". We can still build underground, we just can't change the background (and thus stop spawning). I haven't been watching any more LPs so I'm a bit behind, but I figure as long as there's some block type that worms can't burrow through, building underground wouldn't be too big of a deal. Monster spawns in rooms would only be a minor inconvenience thanks to the magical power of Doors.

Sadly, worms travel through every blocktype that we've seen, the only thing that stops worms is.. lack of block, so if you built your house suspended over a huge empty space on all sides, then sure, they wouldn't get to you.

You could probably also somehow surround your house in lava to stop worms.

Worms go through lava too, or at least some of them do.

Devourers laugh at your lack of rock and will eat you when you sleep during the night.

Well that's a bummer. Again, I haven't been keeping up to date with all the LPs, so I'm sort of hoping people just haven't fully experimented with it. I know you can craft various "brick" type blocks, so I was hoping some craftable block would do the trick. Ah well, I'm sure the community will figure something out when we get our hands on the game. Worst case scenario, our epic underground forts will double as a massive gladiator style arena.

Hmm there ARE the spikes in the dungeon. I wonder if you can move them and if they'd do damage to worms that passed through them. It wouldn't be enough to kill them on one pass, but it'd definitely make them easy to clean up. The bone serpents, on the other hand, probably wouldn't care too much about spikes.

The moment the lever was pulled, somebody's pet kitten stepped onto the bridge. I read somewhere that if a cat falls more than 11 stories, it instinctively flares its legs out to increase air resistance. This slows it down enough to stick the landing with relatively minor injuries. In Dwarf Fortress, apparently, cats don't do that.

There's the Eye, The Big skeleton, The Devourer of Worlds...that's all I know of, but probably more exist, those are the only ones seen so far.

Idea for the death system. Copy the system FATE used, with three choices: Lose money, lose a piece of equipment you chose, or lose a random item stack.

Holy shit, I didn't even notice that. I think it's closer to Zero (the first) though.
