The accent is believable to me... If you want a REALLY near fake accent... Listen to any of Musclebomber's letsplays.

If you want I can link you to a riff on a muscle bomber video.

His only problem is that he's too passive about the accent. If you are gonna use words like that you gotta go all the way. Put all your energy into it man. Imagine yourself to be Jack Black on crack. So long as you are excited and interested in what you are doing and saying it will be interesting to listen too. Can't be casual man.

And yeah, this really says nothing about Notch. He was working as a single man on some side project he never expected to get that big in a rather technically complex world in Java because let's face it, he made this as a temp project and wanted to enjoy programming it. When he did finally get a company it took like four months and the office hasn't been done 'till a week or two form now because that stuff takes time.

Then you get a few guys working together on a dedicated project form the start.

Notch had a TON of stuff eating up his time. I think he just should have hidden how much he made and kept people from being dumbasses about his progress.

Notch's biggest problem is his release schedule, he seems to be doing.
Do we call toady lazy?
Sometimes but for the most part we all know he works hard and their is usually something big to show for amount of time from the last version.
Notch adds little things and does little releases and it creates the illusion he is doing little

Speaking of the other LP, it confirms the game has the same weapon types as Castlevania. A shortsword swings horizontally, and a lot faster.

^and does a lot less damage... A copper short swords does less than half the damage as a wooden broadsword while the wooden one also swings instead stings so it covers a lot more area. I hope they make the stinging version a bit more powerful because it seems like a broadsword is always better. Now that I think of it, the shortsword might just cost less metal bars so it would already be balanced that way.

EDIT: When I said I thought Notch was lazy it was just my way of saying that he seems to add less stuff than the Terraria crew. I did not meant that he is actually lazy or that he somehow should add more just because I want it.

A fast horizontal swing versus a slow vertical swing is already a whole 'nother level of difference. In close quarters, a shortsword will damage-lock the enemy with its fast attacks, and if every attack hits you can push out double the DPS of an equally powerful broadsword.

Yeah there are downsides to the broadsword as well, but as you can see in PBats LP it is hard to hit a monster with a syinging attack if it is not above you and armor reduces your damage per attack and not by a percentage so stinging attacks will probably be better versus the earlier monster which do not have a lot of armor.
I really like the dicersity of weapons though. Another thing I really like if how equipment takes you a lot of effort to get, but one you have it there is no durability. Durability was really bothering me in Minecraft although it is an entirely different game so you cannot really compare it anyway.

It is somewhat better to go for the slower but more damaging weapon in most situations. Since trying to stunlock a creature often causes them to launch themselves into you

However there is hardly a rule against having both.

There's been a visible difference in both range and speed of higher tier broadswords that we've seen in the trailer, I'm really curious how shortswords scale with better materials. Pbat is pretty annoying, but the actual gameplay is pretty organic so it's a nice watch.

I'm unclear about why people get their panties in a twist over 'MC clones'. Hell, look at any RTS game and then look at Dune 2. Or look at any Roguelike and look at... you got it... Rogue. Seriously, why all the surprise when a good idea gets built upon? Seems obvious that any really good idea would would be built/expanded upon.

Back to the short vs broad swords, a quick review of the 3rd part shows that a shortsword costs 7 bars, while doing 6 damage, and a broadsword costs 8, doing 8 damage. So you get a slightly cheaper sword that's harder to use but with more potential damage due to high attack speed.

One thing the fast shortsword will protect against, I think, is packs of advancing enemies. With a bit of time between swings of a broadsword, you can miss someone just outside the range, and by the time you swing next it might be too late. So unless your enemies jump of fly, a shortsword will work best.
