Well it is simple, the cure does not make light the disease.

The disease will quite possibly be wiped out before it will ever be a real problem.

Notch gets respect points for a good game. Any respect I have, however, is over balanced by the fact he is either that malicious, or he is that ignorant, that he destroys prospective amazing games.
He probably didn't think about how terrible his fanbase is when he linked it.

I think it provides for different ways to deal with problems. They could just build a catch platform above them so the guys have to walk out and away from them before dropping down.

I'd prefer challenges that require player ingenuity, then it turning into a much slower and boring RPG where guys march in from the sides and you swing your sword until they're dead, without moving.

That seems....really unfair to him. You can't blame him because his fan base is a load of bitter shut-ins who hate what they don't love. I mean I don't claim to know a lot of MC culture, but you're making him sound like Snidley Whiplash.

It is far worse to be shooting me down as you will find very soon enough when you bump into unjustly hype.

*hands Neonviek his Bronze Badge of Token Opposition*

Mostly I just find the term "cheap" nonsensical. Guys raining down from the sky, silly maybe. But cheap? Exactly what do you need to prove?

not token opposition. More that I recognise that there are problems that need fixing that likely won't and I won't have my magical "it will be fixed" wand over it.

If anything your giving token praise. Praise for the sake that you love the game.

I also don't let it go because letting people quelch actual problems about the game leads to unjustly hype.

You mean the problems that have been shown and discussed in the LP, like the spawning oddities and the rarity of altars?

Perhaps Neonivek didn't see the first episode in which they pointed out the entire purpose of the LP is to judge the current functionality of the game such that they can better understand where adjustments need to be made?

No I seen that.

The falling enemies is caused by the fact that the pathing of enemies ignores terrain (and the fact that all enemies pretty much have one AI "Run aimlessly against the player until they are dead")

...Which causes them to fall on the player from above when they walk off a ledge. Your point? The only problem is that there's too many of them currently.

Yep, though given that caves are more like pitts then caves. You can see why it happens so often.

Giving enemies draw distances would be a nice step.

That pretty much sums up my feelings on it. There is room for tweaking the degree of things, but if you were to outright stop enemies from spawning above/below you and falling/climbing their way towards you, it'd just leave you with a left-right format of battle, which seriously undercuts what really makes these voxel games appeal to me- the ability to move, build, fight, and destroy in every dimension applicable to the game.

Well then, the second possibility I listed still causes him to get no respect.

Not my fault he is either ignorant of the horrid fanbase, or he is aware of the effect him linking anything that could possibly have a remote connection to MC to crash and burn horribly. It's like the argument on the topic of god about god being able to, or willing to, fight evil. If he can, but won't, he's malicious, if he's willing, but unable, god is incompetent, if he is willing and able, why do we have evil, and if he neither wants to nor can stop it, then why call him god?

...Are you seriously trying to argue that Notch is a horrible person because he links to interesting games? Seriously? Do everyone a favor and never, ever work in any kind of marketing or public relations department ever. Your argument is so backwards it's absurd. You're basically saying Notch is evil because he gives an indie company customers.
